Well, I, for one, don't--it's like those medieval theological debates. I'm sure next we'll wonder how many Bond actors can dance on the head of a pin.

Indeed. Surely there are plenty of other threads in which to discuss Dalton, and I say this as someone who agrees with the thread's contention. ;)

Can't say I have any particular problem with this thread, although I do disagree with its premise - Timothy Dalton is my second favourite Bond behind George Lazenby. However, a lot of it has to do with the quality of the scripts: Lazenby got the best in the series, whilst both of Dalton's films were excellent. By the same token, Pierce Brosnan is my least favourite Bond, but there's nothing intrinsically wrong with his performance; it's the scripts that were at fault.

oh, I agree too with the thread title, but we have had so many similar topics, which have only 2 purposes:

    1. to agitate forum members with opposing opinions (which is imho trolling)
    2. to drag AJB's general outstanding level down.

Bondtoys, we seem to be agreeing with each other so much lately. :o :D This thread isn't all that creative or original. I could start a thread with 'Sean Connery: the best Bond', and while it may be popular, it would be unoriginal and would just take up space, when there are plenty of other Connery threads.

You can never replace the real JFF. :v In response to your comment, if I said that compared to QOS, AVTAK is one of my favourite Bond films, would that be sufficient? :v :))

:)) Well, I'm sorry, but as much as I love Sir Roger, I can't bring myself to love AVTAK. I do enjoy it, it features one of my favourite Bondian scenes, and Walken is always great, but it has too many flaws, not the least of which was that Moore was too old (I often wonder whether it would have improved if Brosnan had been cast as Bond.) While I would never subject it to the rant that DAD received recently on another thread, I will also never, unlike JFF, passionately defend its merits.

    ... me, too :D

with the difference that DAF is on the bottom of my favourite Bonds, followed by NSNA and AVTAK. I also don't look down so passionately on DAD. It had good moments like Hong Kong, the Island road scenes, the Vanquish, HB when not talking and the lovely Rosamund Pike :x
