Well I should try and save GF, but I won't. It is ahead of at least 3 remaining chases.
Paradoxically, it's the best car---in arguably one of the best films---and IMO the chase (in and of itself) isn't really that great. One of the few shortcomings of GF, actually.

Only the ejector seat bit saves this from being in the top 5 as far as I am concerned, it's cleverly done and the the way they catch Bond is inspired.
You mean he drives into a wall because there happens to be a mirror there?

Given the history of movies the chase was well done for it's time, looking at it in 2010 seems pretty weak as chases go, but for it's time it was well done and the series basically invented action movies do your homework and get back to me.
Please don't get me wrong, I know that especially for the time it was shot it was certainly an exceptional chase. In some ways this should be at numer 1 because of the huge industry influence it has had. Just about everything in there had never been done before and has been copied in one way or another so many times since.
It's just that I have always been dissatisfied with the way they ended it. It never felt right.
The I added, was to indicate that it must have hurt, but I do realise that it could be interpretated differently.

Please don't get me wrong, I know that especially for the time it was shot it was certainly an exceptional chase. In some ways this should be at numer 1 because of the huge industry influence it has had. Just about everything in there had never been done before and has been copied in one way or another so many times since.
It's just that I have always been dissatisfied with the way they ended it. It never felt right.
