Relative newbie to Bond-dom but fast getting addicted (healthier than cigarettes or alcohol) so just signing up after lurking for too long. Have memories of Wint and Kidd, Tee Hee and Dario in the cocaine shredder as a kid but didn’t watch a full film till a few years ago and then caught up with the rest thanks to the joys of the small screen recently.
Don’t have a favourite Bond but LALD and YOLT are the films out of their boxes most often. Most of the films are like good friends to me now although I do have a few real friends and a life (occasionally) too!

Really? Heh, I grew up working there... I guess it's the unfamiliar that entices. I dig NYC, but apart from the Bond locations in LALD, Chinatown & the Statue of Liberty, it's kind of just a real expensive tourist trap.
My Wife has been to London; she says that's HER favourite big city ever. I'd love to see it myself.

and as you quite rightly say its the familiararity with our home towns that we take for granted
but I suppose there were many Italians in Sorrento that would love to come to London personaly I cant wait
to get out of the place , )
