"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
Hey Guys- I just signed up on the forums yesterday and was pointed in the direction of this thread by Thunderpussy- who has been really cool in my short time here. Where to Start? Let's start with my love for the Bond character, movies, and novels.
I am really a Bond fanatic. I have my own personal rankings of the actors who have played him, I can rank the Bond Girls, the Villains, I can even rank the theme songs lol.
The first Bond movie I saw as a kid was The Spy Who Loved Me and I was hooked instantly. Roger was so cool, suave, and debonair in the role and I couldn't get enough. As a ten year old child I had no knowledge of what Sean Connery had done before him and honestly it took awhile for me to fully appreciate how great Connery was because Roger WAS James Bond when I was growing up. Now that I am older I fully recognize that some of Roger's stuff was a little too campy and he wasn't the best Bond, but I will never be a harsh critic of Roger Moore because he was the Bond I grew up with. I can watch and discuss any Bond movie and I try to keep an open mind about every actor's interpretation. For example, I am not a big fan of the two Dalton films, but I also realize that it is entirely possible for me to watch them at a different point in my life and change my mind.
I look forward to many candid, thought-provoking discussions with You guys-about Bond or whatever topics may arise
1. Goldeneye 2. The Spy Who Loved Me 3. From Russia With Love 4. Goldfinger 5. Casino Royale
Welcome ( again) MadMaxZorin {[]
I too grew up with Roger Moore as Bond and like yourself ( basically love
the guy ) he's a Hollywood leading man in the same group as David Niven,
Cary Grant etc. Very suave a perfect English gentleman. -{
As a kid he was on the TV so often in our house I thought of him as an Uncle. )
Now of course I can accept others opinions on his tenure as 007. But I can't be
Too hard on him.
For Me Connery is king ( although I do like Dalton ) , well to be honest I like them
All.
Look forward to reading your opinions and thoughts on all things Bond, and anything
Else, that might come up. )
Higgins is in charge of the Dalton fan club ! )

Thanks (again) Thunderpussy lol.
Yeah, now that I have some years behind me and I've gotten to see all of the Bonds in action it is hard to refute that Sean Connery is the king of all Bonds. I feel like he was still feeling things out in Dr. No, but he really settled into the role in From Russia With Love and set the standard for years afterwards. I will always have a soft spot for Roger and love Brosnan/Craig as well, but Connery is king. I need to go back and watch the two Dalton outings one day soon lol.

If you're interested we started only last month a Bond bluray film club, but
any format from vhs,DVD or digital download can be used. It's basically a
Review of the film and special features. So giving anyone a great excuse
to go back and re-watch the movies.
Last month was Dr No & FRWL and this month it's GF and TB -{ so please
Feel free drop by and express yourself. ) http://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/44079/bond-bluray-film-club/

Thanks for the link TP! I will certainly participate although I am sorry that I missed From Russia With Love. That sits alongside The Spy Who Loved Me and Goldeneye as one of my very favorites in the series:)
Just a warning though: I am one of those rare dinosaurs that has yet to graduate from DVD to Blu-Ray lol.

Not to keen on Dalton, then you must join the 'Misty Eyed Fan Club' -{
Thanks. Sorry, I thought I had already replied to Your post before realizing that I had indeed forgotten. No, I am not the biggest Dalton fan, but I have promised TP that I will give his films another chance lol.

Don't team up with Higgins. Don't join the Dark Side ! )
You'd be surprised how bright and colorful my world is - particularly compared to the Timboys' universe
Yeah. I have only seen each film once (well, that's not entirely true. I fell asleep on The Living Daylights twice lol), but I do remember there wasn't much fun being had in either movie lol.

Of those poor members who dislike Roger Moore )
They have almost two decades of films to avoid ! )
Yeah. I believe Roger has 7 movies under his belt. That's almost a third of the collection. I have actually run into some poor souls who don't like Connery or Moore believe it or not. It's really unfortunate for them )
