After a short break, I returned to AJB, but sadly the old magic is gone. I consider myself
lucky and privileged to have been here during an amazing time. Many's the afternoon I
sat laughing out loud at my keyboard, at the fun and games occurring
Sadly many of those old crew are no longer around and some new members are, lets
say a little too serious, I've also discovered in the politics thread that I must be the only
non left wing/socialist on here
So to the friends I've made a big thanks, I've learned much on Bond, Life, Friendship
.... Smalahove Watches and firearms. To the enemies I've made .... well I'll just say
farewell.
It's been fun and I might pop in time to time to see what's happening. So thanks to all
of you who've made me laugh/ think a big thanks to The Mods for running a tight ship and
keeping us all in line. It was fun while it lasted........ perhaps I'm become more mature ?
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
About everything that you‘ve said - everything changes in life - have you considered that you yourself have moved - moved from where you have been in the old days to a much more serious, cynical and compromise-less position than before?
Whatever you choose - whereever you go, I am offering you my sincere best wishes for the way!
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

AJB has evolved from the beast it was many years ago...somethings are better...somethings are worse...you either evolve or die
Everyone one of us needs a break from time to time...and we are all guilty of taking ourselves too seriously at times too :v
These are strange times we are living through (hopefully ) and we are all affected differently by them, our outlook on life being just one...
I’ve made friends here..and lost some too ...but I keep on coming back because I still get enjoyment from doing so...just )
I've only just seen TP's departing thread and I'm saddened to read it. He's always made me smile, and laugh with his posts and comes across as somebody extremely grounded and wise. I will miss having him around and the forum is a poorer place without him. If you read this TP, you will be missed Sir and I hope you have a change of heart. Raising a glass of Jameson's to you {[]
I'd like to thank all those who reached out and got in touch with me via PMs {[] they were
much appreciated and I want to thank everyone -{ obviously the messages will remain Private.
So I'm just going to back away from some threads and stay just posting my usual silly rubbish,
bad/old jokes and leave politics etc to others so a big virtual hug to all :x friends and foes alike -{

My work takes me away from the AJB site for long periods. Though like the crocodile I keep breaking the surface to take in what is happening around. Do not fear though because I have eaten!
I’m a long time lurker and haven’t posted until now, but I thought it was about time I said hello. I love the (mostly) friendly atmosphere of this place and it’s what keeps me visiting.
I’m a huge fan of the series, especially both the Connery and Craig eras. The sartorial side of things particularly interests me and I have unbridled admiration for the sleuths on this forum who seem to be able to track down items from the smallest of clues. This, and the interest I’ve started to develop in watches over the years certainly makes for an expensive hobby.
I can’t wait to watch NTTD - it looks to me like it’ll be worth the delay - but the main thing for me is that everyone is able to stay safe so that they can enjoy it when it finally gets released.
I’m looking forward to getting to know you all a bit better.

This is officially my two thousandth post, and I don't want to waste it on anything On Topic.
I joined ajb007 fourteen(!!!) years ago, in the runup to the Craig reboot. I was rereading the Fleming source material for the first time since my early teens and getting so hyped, yet had nobody in real life to talk about this stuff properly with. This forum looked to be a good literate gang of Bondgeeks who really knew their stuff, and with little of the interpersonal nonsense that derailed other types of forums I'd been active in in the past.
My first post no longer exists (presumably in some prototype of this thread that got deleted?) but I remember my very first line was "Pardon me, do you have a match?", which seemed the appropriate way to establish my creds.
The name was chosen because all the good directly related Bondnames were already taken, so I figured Fleming's other famous character would further demonstrate my respect for the literary roots.
...and I'm still here all these years later, because you fellow obsessives keep recommending great spy books, spy films, spyTV and other related pop culture for further investigation.
We may not have a Bond25 to watch this year, but because I have you as influences in my life, I've spent much of the last eight months watching the Saint, Cathy Gale-era Avengers, Harry Palmer and Matt Helm, and I'd never have got into any of that good stuff without you!

Thanks. It’s good to be back. I agree Bernie was a great Felix and I wish we could have seen more.
Yep! Let’s face it, you and TP can be a handful! (I mean that in a good way!) :007)
