Sorry for bringing my own post up, but does someone know when and if Magnoli will have again the Goldeneye Sulka tie? I was looking forward to it since it's impossible to get..
If you can't trust a Swiss banker, what's the world come to?
Thanks for the info, do you have any of the actual QOS ones??
Yes they do look the business, makes T&A ones look cheap and dull
Have you ever seen a grenadine tie from T&A like the ones that Connery wore? Those are the most luxurious ties you'll ever see.
Matt,
What is your opinion on Sam Hober and Kent Wang grenadine ties?
-Dan
Both are excellent. I consider Hober's gazra grossa grenadine (the type Connery wore) the best value in grenadine ties, considering the selection and customization.
It's still overpriced, considering you can have a high quality shirt made for you at that price and there's nothing unique about that shirt. And it's quite odd to see Oxford cloth with double cuffs. The formality doesn't match. I don't picture Bond ever wearing an shirt made of Oxford cloth. Royal Oxford, yes, but not such a rustic Oxford. But I do like the Tom Ford 2-button cuffs, which are very unique, and that shirt would be great with a tweed sports coat. But definitely not appropriate with a lounge suit unless you like the American look.
Is the copper Hamburg tie def T&A??? Anybody have one?
It was described in an auction. There is a thread on this forum somewhere that will give you the link to that auction page if it still exists. We had tried to have T&A make it, but they didn't have that very color anymore.

Is that the tie in question? It's still available from Turnbull & Asser, and in the SA colors (with light blue in the middle instead of purple. But I thought the question was referring to the copper tie worn in London and at the Hamburg airport. Though that one is also T&A.

has a better feel than the Magnoli one, the shades and light effects look very close to the TF (a bit less luxurious in hand)

It is a T&A tie - I have one. The copper shade is slightly lighter than the magnolia replica.
