Jonathan Rhys Meyers

Have any of you ever thought he might make a good future Bond?

I think he's a great actor and would be pretty much the perfect age after Craig's run ends. Plus, while he's famous, he's not really that huge like Hugh Jackman, for example, who some of you keep talking about. And I'm sure the trainers could beef him up, he's already looking a lot manlier than he used to on "The Tudors".

I think he'd have fun with the character and would certainly give us two or three movies. He is rather short, though, that's the only part that would possibly bother a lot of the fans. If Craig is considered short at about 5'11". I don't think Meyers is much over 5'9" although he can appear taller on screen.

So I'm just throwing that out there. I'd like him as Bond. :)

Henry Cavill JRM costarr in Tudors is by far a much better choice but lets just wait till DC finishes his tenure.

I know, it would make sense if he was hired next considering how close he came for "Casino Royale".

Lets hope so but after 2 more from DC Risico and Property Of A Lady in which M[Dame Judy ] is killed off, thats in about 5 years time and old Henry will be 31 which was roughly Connerys age in Dr No.

He's in this film, with a Bond like title and a great poster:

The short/tall thing is a funny consideration.
Because MI5, and unofficially MI6 have height restrictions on officers, they do not want their people to be too tall. Standing out in a crowd is a disadvantage in the real world of the Secret Intelligence Services.

This is not strictly correct. Whilst there is a restriction on the height of surveillance operatives (frequently referred to as 'Watchers' in novels) so as not to stand out in a crowd, 5' 11" if you're interested, this does not apply to intelligence officers which 007 would be classed as.

    Andrew Buchan for next Bond.

He's been very good in the ITV series 'The Fixer'.

I think Jackman's ship has sailed.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers would be fine, as would Cavill. But Craig ain't dead yet

Hear, hear - don't let's kill Daniel off just yet :D And please, not Jonathan or Cavill - far too 'pretty boy' for me - however, Richard Armitage - the current lead in Spooks would be very nice :x (but probably far too obvious, although it is nice to see a Bond link, with Tobias Menzies playing the Home Secretary)

The trailer for From Paris with Love looks pretty good. Think it's the director of Taken behind it.

Henry Cavill is a better choice in my mind too. He looks like he could be gritty, while JRM is, as previously stated, too pretty boy. That, and I think that Cavill is a better actor :)

I fully agree and when DC finishes [not untill he has done Bond25 he would only be 47 if after 23 they only have 2year gaps] then Henry Cavill would be the right age. Iwould also like to add that Ithink Clive Standen would make a very good Bond imo ,he played Archer the brother of Robin Hood in the recent BBC series he also played an sas officer in adrama called Zero Option.

Way way way way way way way to emo. He should stick to teen movies like Twilight and the sort. Sorry that's a big failure to launch.

Did you see him in Woody Allen's Matchpoint? His acting was so hammy it was barely watchable.

Craig has set a very high watermark. I think it'll be tough for any actor to follow in DC's wake when his tenure comes to an end.

I thought JRM would be great ever since I saw him in MI3
