Rumor has it that the next James Bond after Daniel Craig could be black. Many star actors are looking to be put on the list, which you can check out on the link below.
http://ramascreen.com/10-possible-candidates-for-black-james-bond/
I found an article that mentions someone I've never heard of as going for the role as well. i can't say he's not known, because he seems to have a following, but he's like an underground musician or something. Anyway, after reading the article, he seems to have a great foundation for being the next James Bond, and in my opinion, over the star actors that many of us love. I want to know what your thoughts are on all of this?
Here is the article I found:
LORD TOPH as James Bond
Daniel Craig, the current James Bond, mentioned in an interview that we're ready for a black James Bond, with no suggestions in mind. Since then, there has been mention of who it may be to take on the role. Everyone from Will Smith to P.Diddy has claimed to be best for the role. LORD TOPH became interested in the role and is gearing up to take it on now. LORD TOPH being Bond would be a natural trasition, as he already has the culture, the sophistication, the class, and the style. On top of that, HE is loved by women and and an eloquent speaker as well. The others that have been said to want the role, want to bring something different to James Bond, such as a "swagger" or some "hip-hop flavor" to the sophisticated British character. These things certainly don't fit the mold of the secret agent spy we've all grown to love over the years, and LORD TOPH has no intention of taking away from James Bond what makes him exactly who he is. LORD TOPH, as himself in fact, fits the Bond character like a glove, sans being chauvanistic and Bond predominately being played by British actors. Yet, changes to the Bond character are not uncommon, as the mold has evolved througout the years while at the same time keeping the structure of Bond the same. Such changes include, Bond starting out as a heavy smoker, but now Bond hasn't been seen as a smoker in years. Other changes include his attitude towards women and killing, in which his attitude towards women has lightened up a bit and his attitude towards killing has become a callous ease. There are certain changes that Bond fans don't mind seeing and may even encourage, but a Bond with a swagger and hip-hop flavor seems rather unlikely as the type of change Bond fans want to see. Bond is an icon for many generations, and if the new James Bond happens to be "a black James Bond," as Daniel Craig says we're ready for, then there seems to be no one more fitting than the highly intelligent, classy, and sophisticated LORD TOPH.

Nevertheless, I always thought Chiwetel Ejiofor could make a very good Bond. I doubt they'll ever change the color of the character, though. Most of that list is just pulled out of the author's ass. Will Smith? 8-)
Although Elba and Agbaje are pretty interesting suggestions.
If a black actor had to be Bond it might be the very talented Jamie Foxx, but without wishing to seem prejudiced, I think Bond is a white character and he should remain like that.
I have a feeling that the new Felix is black in order to compromise those who want a black bond.
All this just because of yesterday's announcement that Daniel Craig is leaving the Bond franchise to play Huggy Bear in a porno version of Starsky and Hutch, called Starfish and Snatch. Oh no my mistake, it was Judi Dench leaving wasn't it? To play John Shaft.
Ian Fleming's Bond is a white MI6 officer. Shaft is black. Both great but both very much in a context that kind of has its parameters set in place.

Cleveland Campbell from Manchester, England
Noel Clarke from West London, London, England
David Oyelowo from Oxford, England, UK
Mohammed George Hackney, London, England
Actually Daniel Craig is concrete for Bond 23 and 90% for Bond 24. So.. err yeah, he's leaving, like all things must pass, we are all dying. But the question I think is when?
Oscar Wilde
Without a doubt. I figure he's down to his final couple of thousand days.

Amen, brother.
They would not take me to do a Ray Charles movie, so find yourself another movie, homies.
Presidents and such (ie Barack Obama) is a completely different matter. Black people deserve the same rights and equality to any other skin colour, and I'm happy that the president of the US is black.
But Bond? JAMES BOND IS A CHARACTER, AND A WHITE ONE AT THAT!
Black Bond? Why not make Mr T and Shaft white then? And let's make indiana jones a woman!
A load of bull****! I hope the paranoid 'politically correct' people get a grip and realise that keeping the same character white for an entire franchise is NOT racist/politically incorrect.
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
exactly an in addition to this bond was a racist, and if this occurs then pretty much fleming and bonds image will be destroyed, bonds natively British, without that hes not bond any more, hes just an agent. i'm sorry but this wont and will not happen, every country and nation has its hero for the united states its superman and the like but our hero is bond, you cant change that.

I agree with this post as well as the other fellow who said he would not be cast in a Ray Charles movie. DC would certainly not be cast as Ray Charles nor any of the following:
Cinque in Amistad
Booker T. Washington
Willie Mays
Martin Luther King (by the way I'm off today as the markets are closed because of the King Holiday in the USA)
Nelson Mandella (I can hear it now...Yeah Morgan Freeman is OK but we think Daniel is such a great actor we'll go with him)
How about:
Daniel Craig as SHAFT...who's the black private dick who's a sex machine with all the chicks? SHAFT! Damn right. Shut yo mouth! But I'm talkin' bout Daniel! It doesn't work folks.
Before the Politically Correct crowds fills their shorts let me just say a little something. Sometimes PC people say PC things almost to the point of absurdity. Case in point. I am Catholic and I used to teach Sunday school at my church. They had us following a lesson plan every Sunday called Echoing God's Word. We would have to read the Gospel reading for the day and one teaching partner would give some historical background on the reading.
The reading on this particular Sunday was the epiphany. For the uninitiated, the epiphany was the visit of the three wise men. My teaching partner who was as PC as they come gave the historical background to the kids. He told the kids. "We don't know much about the three wise men because nothing was ever really documented about them. However, we do know that Balthazar was the African American King."
Folks, at this point in time I was literally falling out of my chair, rolling around on the floor in laughter. Bob (my teaching partner) looked at my like I was nuts. He asked. "What's so funny?" I said, "Bob, it was 2000 years ago. He wasn't African American he was just African."
As much as I like Daniel Craig as Bond, I don't care much for his politics. He's just a typical politically correct Hollywood type. The next thing we'll hear him say is that we're ready for a gay black Bond...Hey how about Little Richard. Or maybe we're ready for a cross dressing black Bond. Yeah, RuPaul hear we come.
I think it's just as ridiculous when I hear someone suggest that Bond could be an American. Hey I'm an American but we have Jason Bourne and Indiana Jones. BOND IS AND ALWAYS SHOULD BE A BRIT!
I think if the producers ever fell that far off of the Fleming wagon that they will destroy the franchise. Look at what NBC has done with some of their bad decisions on late night television. They are taking it in the shorts right now because they bet on the wrong guy...Conan O'Brien.
I think if they want to pursue something with a black actor then they would be best going with some sort of spin off from Bond. After Die Another Day came out it looked like they were seriously considering a spin off featuring Halle Berry as Jinx. I was actually looking forward to that. How about CIA agent Felix Leiter starring Jeffrey Wright?
That said, if they went with a black Bond, would I see the movie. My answer would be a reluctant yes. I would like to remain faithful to the franchise but I would like the franchise to be faithful to Fleming.
More food for thought. What the hell was up with the ambiguously gay Sherlock Holmes movie that, for lack of a better description, just "came out."
I have read that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's descendants are irate over the 1st one and and threatening to stop Guy Ritchie's attempt to do a sequel if he doesn't stay true to the literary Holmes.
Does the Ian Fleming Foundation wield any such power over Babs and Michael?
"First things first: this isn't going to be a blog about whether or not there should be a black James Bond, because, let's face it, it's barely even an option at the moment. Eon Productions assumed it was taking a giant stand in the name of diversity when it hired Daniel Craig as the spy, simply because his hair was lighter than Pierce Brosnan's. So the reality of a black James Bond, if there's to be one at all, is years away..."

end of
Bond cant be black, hes not a black character!
the character Ian Fleming Created was and is not black,
I stand by my Word that the Day there is a Black James Bond
I will sell everything i have to do with it never watch the films
again or buying anything to do with it, the 50 year legacy will
be no more finished, end of for me if that day ever came
All this political corectness etc has was and still is getting out of Hand,
once they make a few films about Obama with Jamie Fox,
Samuel L Jackson, Will Smith and Morgan Freeman playing him,
we should push for a film about obamas life staring Johnny Depp
as Obama
COME ON! the Bond legacy, series, and following -
well a great chunk of the followers come to an end I think that
there would be no recovery and once some of the followers are
gone they are gone!
If anyone sees what I say as Racist, then so be it, I can asure
you its not recist in the slightest way, I am expressing a very
valid opinion.
My friends cousin was over visiting from America, and she had her
husband with her who was of a black american guy, He mentioned
to my friend about being a Big Bond fan and he said to me etc, so i
showed him my collection of memorabilia and props etc, and the
subject of a black Bond came up in conversation, and he said, ''Bond
is white not black, it wouldn't work and there would be no point in
it in all honesty'' But he did say he thought will smith would be the
good choice but he said very enthisiasticaly that there should never be a
black James Bond. and I fully agreed

Next thing is, Bond will be played by an American!!!!
Well, those are two totally NEW suggestions!
From what I've seen and read, this whole argument about Lynch comes down to two main positions on either side:
1. Bond has to be a white male because that's how Fleming wrote him.
2. Bond has to be changed because the movies are falling behind the times.
For the first one: Yes, Fleming wrote Bond as a white male. He also wrote him as a cynical, often depressed alcoholic who smoked two packs of cigarettes a day and had no qualms about using stimulants. How often has that Bond been portrayed on screen? The films have always cherry picked the more “socially acceptable” characteristics of the Book Bond to generate the movie version. Saying “Movie Bond must equal Book Bond” and then only picking two or three superficial characteristics that "matter"' conveniently ignores the content of the novels and the reality of the franchise.
For the second: No, Bond does NOT need to be drastically reworked to fit with the times. Whether it was Cold War Russians or over the top villains, Bond was always the agent that was sent in when the situation demanded extreme measures. In other words, Bond is the solution when the system is failing because he operates outside it. If the only reason Bond is given a complete overhaul is to "get with the times", i.e. made a role model for the current system, then you remove his power.
Imo, that doesn't mean the character can't evolve in smaller increments. For example, he's stopped smoking and slapping women on the ass (and I'm sure there are some fans who miss that). But I think that evolution needs to continue to be focused on Bond's personal concepts of right and wrong. He's always had had his own code of conduct that drives his actions. And that code has been based on preserving, at all costs, what is "good and right" in the world and stopping what is "wrong" and "evil". If his code has evolved to include treating women with respect because it is the "right" thing to do, I have no problem with it. That type of change works with the values of our time but doesn't do anything to obstruct Bond's ability to operate outside the system.
To me, none of that has anything to do with the actor's skin color. I have a tougher time with changing the gender, but that probably has more to do with my lack of imagination. Just because I can't see it doesn't mean it couldn't work. However, imo, what will always fail and destroy the character of Bond is making him black or female only to "shake things up" or "make Bond relevant again". If the writers can't come up with new plots that keep a white male Bond interesting and relevant, they should be fired for lack of creativity.
