My trip to the Aston Martin Dealership

I went on a two day trip to St. Louis from Kansas City this week. My girlfriend and I had a lot planned but It didn't even occur to me till our first night to see if there was an Aston dealer there. Of course I found Moore Jaguar Aston Martin http://www.mooreautogroup.com/.
When I went they had a silver 2009 Aston Martin DB9 2dr Volante with paddle shift in the show room. We walked in and opened her up, what a beauty. It was a little odd that we sat inside, took some cell phone pictures, and even strolled through the offices and no one approached us, but that's fine with me.
And yes I am wearing the straw hat from Target that looks similar to the one donned by Sean Connery in Goldfinger; I couldn't resist.
Outside we walked the lot and found a newish green V8 Vantage and a jetblack DB9, both in the service area, sadly not for sale.
The only other Aston I've seen was a silver Vanquish back in Kansas City 2 years ago. It was a great day.

One of my favorites, I would love to see one someday.
That's not just any V8 Vantage, don't know if you realised, but that is THE (007) V8 Vantage.
A friend of mine did this on a regular basis with all sorts of makes. Until one day, about seven or eight years ago when he took a two-year-old DB7 Vantage worth £80,000 out for a spin, after a suitable amount of bull*hit and blagging. The tiny bump he did at a set of traffic lights left him with a £6000 minimum excess, that he didn't read when he signed the car out of the showroom. They held his licence while he was on the test drive, and to cut a long story short, he was f**ked. He's still driving cars worth a grand or less now at the age of 39! So beware of expensive showrooms...

That's very true, and not just for car salesmen either. I remember passing through Heathrow when I was in my early 20s and I was strolling from shop to shop killing time. I stopped by the Mappin & Webb and was gazing lustfully through the glass at the top of the line Rolexes. The sales clerk came over, opened up the case and pulled one out. "Try it on", she said, to which I unnecessarily stammered that I was 'just looking.' The next thing I know, she's put it on my wrist and was wiping the drool from my chin. "I know you're not going to buy it, but I'd rather see the stock making people smile than spend my day cleaning the cabinets." The price tag read GBP12,000...and she certainly made my day!
