Why does Bond never carry spare mags for his PPK/P99?

With the exception of the virutal reality scene in DAD i dont recall Bond ever reloading or carrying spare mags for his Walthers, especially in fire fights such as the one with Whitaker at the end of TLD or on board the stealth boat in TNDs where it would make sense to carry more mags.

Ian Fleming often had Bond carrying extra "clips", he just dropped them in his pockets - no special magazine holders. On his trip to Crab Key in Dr. No Bond carried his new Smith & Wesson and 20 rounds of ammo!!!!

Like ASP says his cinema mags are "special".

20 rounds in the pocket always seemed so...lumpy...to me. They did have a pack of some sort if I recall, so maybe it was in there.
In TMWTGG he has a bunch of extra mags at the end on the train (5 maybe?).
Seems he was "meaning business" there.

That said, he might shot his load later on...

We don't even know how many shots his gun is supposed to shot.

Well, as he is using real guns with make and model...... Yes we do know.

There was this thread not that long ago with all the contradictory informations about the numbers of hits of his gun. One of the reference was with The man with the Golden Gun, of course. I tryed to find the thread but it seems I looked wrong. If you do, please tell me.

A Walther PPK in 7.65mm can only hold 7 rounds in the mag and one in the chamber as standard, and the P99 - 16 rounds in the mag and one in the chamber as standard. This has never changed.

In TMWTGG, they used a PPK chambered for 9mm short onset, which holds one less in the mag. This is probably why they they quoted the incorrect amount of rounds Bond should have for the 7.65 version.

The last two films have paid serious attention to how Bond should handle a firearm correctly, and Craig is a natural and obviously listens and applies technique. None of that pointing a gun one way and looking another nonesense.

It probably because the film makers in the past did not stop to think about such details. I remember the first time I saw Bond reload was in the climax of the Spy Who Loved Me, during his fight with Jaws. Also in For Your Eyes Only it is implyed that he reloads during the gun battle at the warehouse, you hear the sounds of him putting in a new magazine and pulling the slide back even though his actions are not seen. Also after his fight with Whitaker in The Living Daylights, he is seen reloading the PPK, so I assume that he did have more magazines with him, he just did not have time to reload with Whitaker firing his assault rifle and using all the hidden booby traps like the cannon that almost blew him up. Lastly in TND he does reload the MP5 once on the stealth boat so I assume he also had magazines for the P99, he just never had a chance to reload due the battles intensity.
