Congrats on your impending graduation, Pen! Have you played the graduation drinking game where you take a shot every time you're asked "So, what are you doing after you have your degree?" -{
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.
I highly recommend avoiding grad school because it's more awkward to figure out an answer to that the second time around if you don't have a job I hope you have exciting times ahead!

my answer to that question is fast becoming "What Indiana Jones does, without whip and temple robbing" because YES I have a fedora and wear it in the field. NO, I know nothing about Dinosaurs...I like them, I just can't answer your questions :P
kidding? I get to go to Grad school and be surrounded by people even NERDIER than I'm around at school now! Not passing up that chance :P
Good for you! One of the great things about grad school is the camraderie you develop with your research/class cohort mates who generally love what you do. Anthropology (am I remembering this right? Is it archaeology?) sounds like a fascinating field; will you be doing a lot of fieldwork?

it's Archeology under a broader net of Anthropology at the moment...I'll be doing just Archaeology in Grad School. yeah, field work is the name of the game
last night I had a few bottles of Guinness...they've been calling to me from the fridge of late...
I probably drink my body weight in tea every day, though I've found that I can reuse teabags three times before they become flavorless. Black and green tea work well as coffee substitues because they release their energy stimulating chemicals more slowly than coffee, so you're less likely to become jittery and experience an energy crash mid day. I find chai tea without milk or sugar to be the perfect beverage first thing in the morning and keep drinking herbal/fruit flavored tea for the rest of the day.
Who needs sleep when you have enough caffeine and enough projects to keep you busy for months?

He was sitting on a bench having a ciggy. So I stopped for a chat.
Back in the day, he was a dapper young blade and he owned a Ferrari dino. Never would have guessed.
Said I'd walk him home because he had a lot of shopping bags to carry. I don't normally do kindness, but he was a good talker.
We bought twelve cans of "asahi super dry" on the way, then sat in his living room and scoffed the lot. Five for me, seven for him. Also got through two pakets of "Hope" cigarettes.
Good boy. Drinks like a fish. Smokes like a trooper. Wonder what he was like whenhe was twenty years old?
nothing for me til saturday. I'm missing a friend's bachelorette party because of school stuff (I'm honored though, she's hired me to do her wedding photography), so we are going to the pub on saturday. Must give my poor liver a rest :P
Had a glass of Chianti the other night (not with fish ) ) and got light headed rather quickly, yet I was able to drink a bottle of champagne (admittedly over the course of several hours) on New Year's Eve playing the Trivial Pursuit drinking game without getting tipsy so quickly. Abstinence makes one a lightweight -{

Been feeling the same way recently but everytime I try and abstain, someone invites me somewhere !!!
I don't think it will be QUITE as tempting to drink like a fish on Saturday...there's no Stubby Shillelaghies there (the Irish Band)...so my liver can rest til next tuesday when Stubby is back...
Definitely true from what I've read, NP - the fermentation process used to make green tea increases their antioxidant quotient. Don't quite remember how the compounds in green tea, but I've found that I've lost 10 pounds within the past three weeks from drinking 4-6 cups of green tea daily. Part of the trick is that you don't experience the same kind of energy crash that you get with the sudden absorption of caffeine from coffee.

Peaty, salty... it has a taste you can never forget. Lagavulin is good too, Arbeg, but Talisker definitely has a unique appeal.
