A rather nice glass of Shiraz - can't tell you who's, as it was bought for me, - I was organising an event at a very nice hotel/resort - Eastwell Manor in Kent. (This is the type of place that has helicopter's landing next to the car park - not that that impresses everyone )

had a couple of shots (Watermelon Pucker) whilst watching Castle earlier (there's a drinking game related to the show...) and then decided that I didn't really want to be drunk tonight/hungover tomorrow.

I remember a few years back Kiefer Sutherland was on a late night show. He talked about a drinking game related to the show 24. Since he couldn't swear on regular tv, a swear word would be replaced with the word damn. Finding out about this game he decided to throw in a few extra damns during shooting. Good 'ole Kiefer, letting the college kids have their fun. I wonder if the show Castle does something similar?

Since Pen was so nice to look p the rules of the drinking game for Castle, I found the drinking game rules for the show 24:
Drink once whenever
*Jack kills somebody.
*Somebody summarizes what's been going on in the past couple hours.
*Something bad happens to Kim.
*There's a split screen.
*Palmer has a speech about how he won't trash his morals, you know, the usual bullstuff. (This one probably doesn't count any more. Unless your watching re-runs)
*Jack defies orders.
*A CTU employee looks at another CTU employee suspiciously.
*Somebody mentions the amount of time it will take for something to be accomplished (i.e., "The Delta squad won't be there for another twenty minutes").
Drink twice whenever
*A CTU employee other than Jack kills somebody.
*Some annoying authority figure shows up (Chappelle, Alberta Green, etc.).
*There is an obvious lapse in continuity (i.e., Kim says that Gael is a mole and in the next scene we see him on the run).
*Somebody mentions Terri (Season One doesn't count).
*Somebody is revealed to be a mole/traitor, or an important object turns out to be a decoy/red herring.
*Somebody other than Jack defies orders.
*A main character dies.
Drink three times whenever
*A supporting character from a previous season shows up (Nina, Mandy, Sherry, Kate, etc.)
*CTU goes into lockdown.
Finish the drink whenever
*The main villain changes (example - Gaines to Drazen).
*The final minute does not include a surprise/cliffhanger.
And of course the one I mentioned above. Take a shot of your favorite drink anytime Jack Bauer says damn (damnit is also acceptable).
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope
Last night I had a nice glass of lillet blanc. I'm almost finished with my first bottle, sadly the liquor store i bought it from is now no longer carrying it
1 or 2 glasses of Rose..... (along with a Domino's Pizza, a real treat )
I've got some bubbly in the fridge, which I forgot to take to a celebration, so I think that might get open, to toast the end of another big project I've just finished for my own company

A 375mL of Moet and Chandon Champagne. But I did not know that non-vintage did not really 'aged' or something. So I think that I waited way too long, because it was completely undrinkable. I don't know if it was 'cork taint' (is that how you say it?) or I simply let it aged for too long. But I must admit I forgot it for about 9 years.
So it touched my lips and it went into the sink. I recycled the bottle.
If you can't trust a Swiss banker, what's the world come to?

There has been a rule of thumb, that NV champagne does not really gain anything by 'ageing' but I think if you know what you're doing, then they can certainly benefit from a few years of being in the cellar
Corking - which is the general term for when wine is spoiled by the cork, (this is when the cork reacts, or breaks down, literally 'spoiling' the taste of the wine), is not common, but happens, and this could be one of those unlucky cases
I've had several instances, where a decent bottle of red has had to be returned, as the cork has most certainly tainted the taste, and like you said, is just not drinkable... however much you wish it to be... )
....this is surely one of the main advantages of screw tops being much more available now, although any serious wine connoisseur would argue that point....."oh the shame "

Is 5 years too long to keep a non-vintage champagne? I have another one (different brand, etc) but I think I've kept it for 10 years... do you think it will be drinkable?

Chicken soup always works
alas. I am at school and currently only work on a volunteer basis...otherwise I'd buy soup

Isn't tea more expensive than power chicken soup?
not if mom bought my tea last time I was home. the only soup in a box that I like is more expensive than my tea.
