Here's one that has some texture and such. Alot of whiskey and lowballs are really minimal so it's hard to find different ones.

The glasses as well as the decanter are probably Swarovski. They are credited as a sponsor in CR.

but isnt drinking out of crystal glasses bad for your health, i mean thats what i heard some where, it has to do with the lead leaking in the drink.

I think with Bond in the movie, he had more serious poisioning problems than lead.... B-)

Anecdote time!: A friend of mine who is a cop in New Jersey once worked with homicide in Washington (on a secondment) where someone was shot through the bottom of the glass whilst he drank. Some hillarious jokester put cause of death down to lead poisoning, only it was never removed from the file and went to the DA as just that!

Sorry to dig up an old thread but im at home sipping some Jonny Walker Blue.....

Anybody know if Cumbria Crystal indeed did make these tumblers? Ive found them but not sure wether its THE ones or that its simply a standard cut / design made by numerous glass makers

They come in two sizes (I presume by watching the bathroom scene in CR its def the larger!)

Here is a pic from a UK stockist of Cumbria Crystal

Took a closer look and definitely seems to be the right one, well done for digging this up Welshboy!

Now for the size that's a different question, would have to see them in real life.

Hmm I thought they looked quite large but now not so sure

Here are the official size differences:

    Old Fashioned Tumbler:
    Dimensions H: 9cm
    Capacity 230ml

    Double old fashioned Tumbler:
    Collection Grasmere
    Dimensions H: 10cm
    Capacity 340ml

After blowing up Remmerts pic I reckon its the double old fashioned Tumbler (larger)

Hmmm, is it more economical to buy in a set? or do they only sell individual ones?

Doesn't seem to be any discount but many places seem to sell so maybe best to hunt around.

One think for sure is that we just missed 6 on eBay for £150-ish lol

I guess the bathroom scene was shot at Pinewood and not at the actual hotel???

I presume Cumbria Crystal are maybe not aware of the link since the Downton Abbey connection mentioned but not Bond!!!!

Very smooth indeed!!!!! They go nuts for it in the Far East hence drank it in fair quantities each time I go over for work :o

My whiskey collection just needs a Macallen 18 year old (I've only tried 12 year old)

I would also bet on the Double Old Fashioned Tumbler (340ml).
The proportions match better and the number of bevel grinding (see bottom and circles) seems to me as well identical.

Amazed that there are still things to discover from the films after all these years. So it's the Picardie Duralex for regular use and these for special occasions?

Mantis, I expect we'll see a couple of these Double Old Fashioned Tumblers in your CR display soon.

I think they will look good in his office next to his Skyfall "To the left" pic and Dalton Jack!

Yeah - thats the great thing about this hobby (not for the wallet though) :007)

Is a wallet that empty leather pouch we carry in our pockets? :))

Ah, yes. Mantis's office bar. Perfect place for the tumblers.
