the look on the poor **** face when he realises he's paid £200 more than he could have for a piece of bog roll painted white.......... must be priceless
Casino Royale - Omega display. Part of a set originally (I believe) but often offered as a single piece. Very fair starting price, good feedback on seller. If I didn't own two already...

£211 for a kit that costs a tenner ) I might start making some
I feel a project coming on....
Ok mg and gm (behold the palindromic symmetry....) how about making it happen and at the same time destroy the view that ajb is full of dours instead of doers......

who's saying that about ajb?
i took this pic this morning of one of the estes rockets i have.
now in the kit, you get the arse and tip in injection moulded styrene and the body in the form of a cardboard tube. the fins are pre-cut (by laser by the looks of it) from balsa wood. the transfers are stickers.
all thats required is a can of white spray paint.
you can buy the estes 12d bullpup rocket in the uk, including delivery for about £15
a can of paint would be about £6, so thats £21 in total.
then I'd ship it to you, which is about a tenner all in for the box and postage charges (and it'd be more if it were overseas)
so now we're at £31
then theres my time to put it together and spray it, apply the transfers, i'd say a couple of hours each, so thats another £20, now we're at £51 total.
now, would you like a base for it? lets keep it simple and go for plastic, that'd be roughly £2.50 per rocket made (based on a run of 10 rockets) including delivery to me, then i'd have to cut it and assemble the bases, a further hour or so (£10), plus cutting charges of say £15
now we're at £78.50
oh and would you like a nice gold plaque to go on it? add another fiver.
so for just one rocket we're now looking at a grand total of £83.50 for a toy you can easily buy and assemble for £21
is that really a good deal to anyone? who would pay that?
plus i've got more pressing matters to deal with, hence me not doing any rockets.
Hi all, new member. I joined primarily as the walther p99 (wicke) cap gun i put up for sale apparently breaches ebay guidelines. Wondered if anyone on here would be interested? I have various corgi cars and promotional materials from bond screenings and parties going up for sale from today and the next few days as the collection is extensive. My ebay username is kevinrankin7 if you want to have a look at what i'm reluctantly selling....http://www.ajb007.co.uk/img/smilies/ajb007/tear.gif
Up for auction on Ebay right now, first edition paperbacks of Moonraker, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, and the rare Casino Royale. The seller says they are in amazing condition and has posted copyright pages for Casino Royale and Moonraker. There's only two days left in the auction AND at the moment there's only two bidders up to $20.50!! Looks like these could sell for an absolute bargain price with only two days left. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/220893766558?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
Call me cynical, but why would you sign up with a fansite to promote this if it is such a good bargain? Why not simply bid for 'em yourself and flog them on?
I notice the ebay seller only has about five sales to his name... none of them book related. Hmmm.
I got out of bed today on the wrong side, apologies in advance.
While the foggy morning of an autumn day starts and I make my way wearily into work, I was thinking to myself about something and whether my opinion tallied with the general thoughts of the forum members.
The thought in question was this;
About 2 years ago, I bought a 1:18 DBS model, some more senior members will recall a customisation project concerning this kind of model. At the time, I paid more than the retail price, as they're becoming harder to source. Instead of the usual £20-25 mark, prices were roughly anything between £15 (a lucky late night ending ebay auction) and a more serious £40.
So I thought to myself the other day, I wonder what the prices are now. The same model now is on sale on ebay for £130.
Thats £105 more than the oringal RRP.
So is it just me, or do others here also feel that this is simply out right extortion? Obviously its great for owners when an item gains in value, when viewing from an investment POV, but with such a model being made in quite high numbers and certainly not being scarse when first put on sale, is this high value a justified amount, or are said sellers (both jocks, does this say something? :v ) just taking this pi$$?
Ps, no links to the items as I don't want to advertise their (imo) extortionate adverts.
Things are worth what people are prepared to pay -{ look at it from the other scale with the 1/12th Z8, you can pick them up for well under half price.
MG, it's a similar thing with the Autoart DB5 from Goldfinger.
That Model was available for around US$ 100,-- in shops, now you have to be lucky to find a mint boxed one for US$ 300,--
Like mate said, it's worth what people are prepared to pay.
If that golden rule would not apply, we would be selling used SD Studios attaches for 800 bucks

May I remember the members that someone here once bought a wrong color one like these and had it dyed to black.
