We are very sad to announce the sudden death of our dear friend Martin Grace on the 27th January 2010. Martin was an accomplished stunt performer and co-ordinator, and was Roger's stunt double through most of the Bond films. A wonderful man who will be greatly missed.

Very shocked to hear this - I actually posted in the Tributes thread yesterday. Still though, I think this deserves it's own thread.

Sad news. I never heard anything but good things about him. What a career.

    Rest in peace :(

Sad news, Mr. Grace's exhilarating body of stuntwork both molded and fascinated my love for Bond. RIP..

Me With Martin Grace and Richard Kiel at the Pinewood 'TSWLM Reunion'

RIP Martin, you were a true Screen Legend, Its was a real privillage meeting you and chatting, Meeting Mr. Grace was an experience, one of the greatest film stunt men of all time, I actually learned a lot from him in the time we spent chatting in the gardens of Pinewood, How certain stunts were set up and executed, how to fall a certain way when doing a stunt etc and just very funny and interesting stories about his experience of working on the Bond films and many of his other film and TV appearances. Had a real good laugh with himself and Richard Keil, was deffinetly the highlight of my Pinewood visit.

You will be missed but never forgoten. RIP Martin

I was very sad to hear about this. I remember him being interviewed for the documentary on The Man with The Gold Gun DVD, where he was among the stunt men who shared their stories of working the Bond films both past and present.

He seemed like quite a guy, if I remember right during the filming of the train stunts in Octopussy, he broke his pelvis after falling off the train. Thankfully he recovered quickly and returned to finish filming the rest of the stunts. May his legacy live on.
