There was a bit of a debate with my friend about this. Basically he said he had it and i explained there were only a few made for the film and others floating around. Also th JB988 apparently isn't the model number, im wondering if anyone knows if this phone was commercialy available and what the actual model number was...

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but thought this was the best place to add this information.
The new Mobile Phone Museum has just launched, and one of the special exhibits if the Ericsson JB988, and there is a great story behind this. They partnered with a design company to recreate a "one-off" version for the museum, do check out their youtube video on the design and manufacturing process for this replica

Give it 10 , 20 years, the museum will close, someone will purchase the phone and try to claim it was a movie prop used in a bond movie and put a high selling price on it.
I trust that references and well-documented and stored information will be there available against such activity. Oh well, to be honest given a time of 10 yrs or 20yrs...yikes..who knows if our happily-ever-after planet even exists anymore 🤨 a pessimist is never disappointed 😁
