Do you ever wonder what GoldenEye would've been like if the roles...

...Had been reversed? Let's say for some strange reason Sean Bean was cast as James Bond, and Pierce Brosnan was cast as Alec Trevelyan. I wonder what kind of Bond, Bean would've been and I wonder if Brosnan could've been a decent villian.

I always thought SB would have made a better Bond than PB imo.
Look at Sharp imo an 18th centuary Bond and SB nailed it, sadley PB didnt as Bond.

I like that idea of having Sean Bean as bond. He seemed a little more arrogant, a little more brash, like the Bond from the novels. The thing is they were looking to step away from that kind of Bond after Dalton so they got the charming Pierce Brosnan Bond. With Bean I think Goldeneye would of been interesting but I can't picture him in the rest of the franchise. I can't really see him looking at ease in a tuxedo.

Can anyone find a picture of him in a Tux?

Hmmmmm. I've looked and looked. I've never seen the movie National Treasure, but sounds like there's a scene with some of the cast wearing Tuxedos. Couldn't find one of Sean though. The best I could come up with is below. Not a Tux, but a nice suit:

Bean's Yorkshire accent and gruff lack of class would have made him a hard sell on the chat show circuit, plus his English accent was always a tad posh and emotionally restrained, like Ewan McGregor's it stripped the personality out of him. Otherwise I know what you mean, he looked more like the Bond of the Fleming paperbacks.

I think the rest of the franchise would've been different if Sean Bean was Bond. The reason why the three follow-up films to GoldenEye were campy is because Pierce Brosnan had a Roger Moore-like quality, Sean Bean had a Timothy Dalton/George Lazenby-like quality so I think it's safe to say that the other films would've been different.

Maybe in some alternate reality Sean Bean got the role of Bond instead of Brosnan and Pierce got the role of Trevelyan instead of Bean.

I think Pierce Bronsan was the perfect choice for bond, and bean the right choice for villian. I don't think bean has the right charisma & style for bond.

Sean Bean is making a film where Iive right over easter, by the way. He will be filming the WWII film "Age of Heroes" in the small Norwegian mountain community I live and work. Exiting!
I'm hoping to get a autograph on my Goldeneye DVD and my Lord of the Rings DVD box. :)

Thanks! The 5th, 6th and 7th grade are hoping to get an exclusive interview for their next edition of the school newspaper.
All 19 of them have been working on the newspaper and it's really quite good ;%
