    I haven't heard anything yet

Word from G E Fabbri is that if you pay by Direct Debit from a Current Account then you will recieve a full payment Schedule. If you opt to pay via a Credit Card then you do not.

Did you get the first welcome mail? I got mine a couple of days after subscribing but had problems getting registered on the mysubscriptions site. I figure it may have been to do with using a gmail email account. A couple of emails/days later their customer service mailed me a password which allowed me to see if they had taken payment /despatched. I subscribed from issue 3 having purchased the first two locally and they sent 3-7 and gifts on 10 Feb. 5-7 and the screw box arrived today so I'm guessing the other 2 may not far behind....

Hope yours arrive soon too - I'd give them a quick call if you aren't getting anywhere via email.

I got issues 4-7 today too. Everything looks great, parts wise. But, once again, the rubbish bag (read that either way!) they came in meant the magazines were all bent. 8-) Pretty useless on that front I'm afraid.

Didn't get the parts list so looks like I'll be e-mailing them about that. Ah well, I'll get there in the end! :D

    Techkat,
    I concur.... well, almost....
Received issues 5-7 today with screwbox. Although Fabbri Website log-in stated issues 4-7 had shipped?!
Also stated issue 3 (my first subscription number) had shipped with Aston Martin book on same date, 10 Feb. Although yet to receive. Maybe Tomorrow? And maybe along with missing issue 4?

Having seen other comments about receiving welcome email; mine was by return and having attempted to log-in to the site also received my password by return. So no complaints there.

Reading previous comments I was about to email them today and then the door bell rang... with a package! Patience seems to be the key.... as with all model making! 8-) My original payment was taken 2 Feb, shipping stated as being 10 Feb and arrival today 16 Feb. With one package yet to be received. So much for Royal Mail 2nd class - used to be 1st Class next day and second class the following.... how times change :(

No complaints either about quality of parts. As I unpackaged a tyre... woah! Not pleasant! Talk about realistic!! :#
These days it takes three kills...!

I'd stick with it :D This is not going to be a quick build so a few days isn't really going to make a big difference... they said that the second deliveries were going out on 7 & 8 Feb but mine didn't get despatched until 10th. I guess sending them all out together would be a mammoth task so I'm sure they're just wading through the backlog...

Thing I still can't make my mind up is whether to leave everything packaged or to unpack to ensure everything is okay. As a previous poster mentioned the packaging tends to end up with corners crumpled on the mags and I've no doubt the parts get thrown around in the post but leaving them sealed is a tempting option when they need to stay boxed for such a long time...

@000-7 same with the despatch details - I'm hoping p3/4 and the book turn up and possibly tomorrow. Like the screw box - smaller than I expected tbh but overall should prove very useful - when I fully unpack I'll use it for all the small bits as well so they don't get lost during the build (stops the cat/dog eating them as well!)

On another note, isn't the db5 supposed to have a spare tyre in the boot? I have a 1/24 scale which has most of the features of this grown up brother and it definitely has - don't recall seeing this on the parts list so I guess this is one feature they've missed...

Looking forward to the next parts already :)

Here's how I've been storing mine, in a plastic container with a lid. What I usually do is carefully open the blister pack and examine the parts, then reseal it with tape. That way I can check for problems and keep everything safe and sound in the same place.

G E Fabbri should do something about the packaging? Why are they not using the boxes or the bubble envalopes that they occasionally send out?

Whats you plan for the magazines? I mean if you want them to arrive in pristine condition every time you dont get the idea of this. These are NOT collectors items. they are meant to be read and enjoyed (this can still be done if they are "bent".
The car however IS a collectors item and that is why all pieces are sent in protective packaging (and if this fails, they will replace).
Way too many people getting hysterical on here. Sure if a car part is not up to scratch or if you are missing something - get onto them but bent magazines? Orders coming a day late? C'mon, try and enjoy this instead of getting stressed out!

I noticed that the competion running with the subscription ends at the end of march so worth checking if the free gifts will still be offered after that...

Got my parts 3 & 4 and free book earlier this week. All complete up to part 7 now. Mags were okay but the cardboard on the parts was pretty creased / ripped on the corners - done its job of protecting the parts I hope. Part 7 was just wrapped in bubble wrap with no backing card...

Overall I'm pretty happy - still can't make my mind up about checking the parts though... Although now I'm leaning towards doing so as one of previous posters mentioned a scratch number plate which I assume must have occured before packing

Parts 8-11 are now listed on the web site I'm guessing a 10th march despatch for these is likely

We're hardly being "hysterical" about the mags. Hysterical would be, "ON MY F-ING GOD!!!! THE STATE OF THESE MAGS IS BEYOND AWFUL!!!! GE=FAIL!!! THIS LINE WILL DIE!!!"*

Where as we just mentioned that the corners of the mags were bent. No-one's "stressing out" over it as far as I can tell. This thread is meant for feedback/discussion of the car and the magazine. Not sure why you're so upset about some of us discussing the subject of the thread?

As for what we're doing with them, I can't speak for others, but I consider the whole package a collection, that includes the mags and the blueprints as well as the main model. That means I want the mags to arrive in the same condition I would pick one up from a newsagents; that is to say, in a non-bent condition. I don't think it's too much to ask of GE to supply the whole collection in mint condition. Do you?

*"This line will die!" are words often seen on a toy collectors forum I belong to whenever something is revealed that some don't like. Also used are "Fail!" and "Epic fail!" along with multiple exclamation points! ;)

2010 took out sub on line got numbers 125&6 no 34 no gifts payment taken for 6 issue
the magazine was cancelled got all money back 6 issue all good
2011 got 1.2. from shop took out sub online from 3. payment for 3456&7 taken e mail saying
    customer account number is am007823.
your subscription will started with issue: 3
got 3456&7 issues screw box & am book all good
    got another e mail saying
    customer account number is ap001440.
your subscription will start from issue: 8
e mail them back they said ignore 2nd e mail
sat 19 jan got another issue 7 and parts another screw box & am book & parts 23&4 ident sheets

is it me or does the am book in the leaflet and on the web look like a hardback book the leaflet shows a white band
at the bottom of the book that looks like a dust cover the one ive got both? are paper back with a blue band at the bottom .

part 6 (2011) inside back cover shows part 7 cover picture as the real driver seat adjuster which is
one of the kit parts in that issue. but the real cover shows the driver door open you can just see the adjuster.
i would to know why the change. this happen in the james bond car collection magazine a lot up until the point the next issue cover
page was not showed at all and a white blank space was left.

things wrong with the first print run of db5 mags 2010 and the second run 2011
if you have issue 1 to 6 from 2010 and wanted to start from issue 7 of 2011 thing do not add up

2010 75 issues of magazines with 350 parts
2011 85 issues of magazines with 255 parts so less parts over more magazines

    2010 run
    1 both the same
2 inside back page says part 3 is tyre & weapons console
3 inside back page says part 4 is bonnet & logo
4 inside back page says part 5 is mirror drawer & guns (6 parts)rear license plate, ram rear, roof
5 inside back page says part 6 is oil cap cylinder head fan belt components
6 inside back page picture of connery & car (end of 2010 run)
other page are different because of the different parts in other magazines
    2011 run
    1 both the same
2 inside back page says part 3 is bonnet & logo
3 inside back page says part 4 is oil cap cylinder head fan belt components
4 inside back page says part 5 is tyre & weapons console
5 inside back page says part 6 is mirror drawer & guns (6 parts)roof
6 inside back page says part 7 is seat adjuster & left engine block

Agree with Exinferis. I consider the mags to be part and parcel of the collection. I expect them to arrive in a better condition than they do. The condition that they are arriving in is totally unacceptable. I watched my last delivery as it came up the drive and the Postie was playing with it like a catch ball!!!

not sure if this has been mentioned before but what i have noticed is that the new run for 2011,all the issues have the part numbers on the packageing but the test run in 2010 didn't,also the weapons drawer in 2011 ,the guns come separately from the drawer, but in the test run they didn,t(does anyone know if they can come out as i haven't opened mine yet)
i subscribed in 2010 for the test run and kept my subscription going but i have ordered the new run from 2011 from my local wh smith

Have to agree with the post earlier, I was a subscriber and cancelled as I had a magazine bent and damaged. I now have subscribed at my local newsagents.

Every wednesday I go and collect and it's mint condition. If you are a serious collector then everything needs to be mint condition. Also I got P**ed off waiting for the delivery times nearly 2 weeks is pathetic !!!! This day and age it should be next day.

I'm now happy to pick it up weekly.

Let me tell you something boy, each to their own, I'm sure you know what it means. Also you probably know that ebay and other retail websites feature all kinds of "memorabilia" under collectables section. you know that people collect magazines, posters etc. so why the hell would you say something so utterly stupendous??? I have every single **cking right to have these issues in mint condition as I pay money for it and it is part of the collection! Even if it is personal taste!!

As far as normal person is concerned, no one is hysterical on here. People report their whole experience/feedback/isues etc.

If you don't like the idea of sharing information, then get the **ck out of here as this is becoming more and more irritating to have to listen to these odd **cks coming in from time to time to leave retarded messages! God it pisses me off!

Apologies to all other members of this forum for the language used, but it really is unbearable! We should probably block in future!

    All the best!

Unfortunately test runners have to re-apply for new parts to be sent out, some users reported to sell 2010 test run parts and getting a new subscription out.

hello all - how are we doing ??

I called GE the other day to sort out my subscription having signed up last year

Hamilton151 - if you have any damaged deliveries give em a call and they should replace them for you

Minigeff - you should also receive the freebies if you subscribe now, but the Omega watch prize draw is being drawn at the end of March, so hurry !!!

pjthomson - GE confirmed that the 2011 issues are different from the 2010 issues, apart from issues 1 and 2, they are sending me the "new" issues 3 - 7 free of charge

so all i can say is if you have any problems people, just give em a call and dont hang up until you get the answer you want !!!

keep nagging if you have to !!
