well i have now emailed that ingridh woman twice and (db factory about 4 times) and still no reply - GE are hopeless - so its a phone call to cancel the subcription i think !!!!
Well, I cannot understand why youve had no responce, I was delt with so quick I was amazed, thats why I have passed the information on.
Sorry to hear your having problems now. Hope you get sorted.
(I think GE are launching something else at the moment, so that could be why they are a bit slow to respond)
Must admit, I still cannot acess my account as Ive not had my password sent & Ive even double checked my spam filter.
As long as the parts keep coming, Im not that fussed.
Hello spencer50/crocke007 I am still here without any response. I too have tried to contact this Ingrid woman, head of Customer Experience, thats a laugh !! I have cancelled my subs, that's if they have taken any notice ! and sent all the bits I had back to Ringwood. As I said earlier to spencer50, I was really miffed off about having to take such, what some may call, OTT action, but what do you do when you can not even get the courtesy of a reply ?? I would of thought that a company of this magnitude would be a little better at looking after their customers.
I will keep you informed of the outcome, but don't hold your breath !!!:(X-(
I was really looking forward to collecting this awesome collectors piece but like a few others here, I am yet to receive either issues 8-11 or any kind of answer to multiple emails. My bonnet also turned up with a bit of grit embedded slap-bang in the middle where it sticks out like a sore thumb
I was hoping that all the problems would be sorted out after the initial catch-up period of setting up subscriptions, after all we should all be getting the same issues every month now so how hard is it to get that right!
I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt as a few others are in the same situation as me. Hopefully it is just a case of admin error 8-)
If you are having problems then can I suggest you look up the alternative phone number on http://www.dbfactory.co.uk/ and ask to speak to Someone in overall charge. This is a switchboard number and not the subscriptions number that we use. Also its FREE!!!!!
Has anyone got an original copy of No4 magazine (The bonnet) from the trial subscription they are willing to sell me?
I've had my missing part replaced, but as the order was slightly different, I've now got 2 No3's & 2 No5's.
PM me if any one has please.
Ta.
I've got the same problem. I received the Avon branded tyre, but no issue 3 magazine yet (I never got it during the test run as it was 'out of stock'). So now I'm not even sure if asking for a replacement issue 3 is the right thing to do, as I don't know if they only changed the order of the parts (and cover photographs), or also the contents of the magazines.
Had a really strange experience today... Some of you may remember that I had asked GE Fabbri on this thread about release of this series on Australia and was told it had not been decided. Then I emailed Bissett Mags and got a reply, only a few weeks ago, saying that they were not aware of this series and that there would be TV advertising if they were to do it. Today I went to a shopping centre in Prospect, SA, and the newsagent there had a whole pile of issue 1 for $4.99!
I looked up Bissett Mags website, and this series appears to have just been listed (although most of the website is not working anyway). I wonder if it's not only a test run to see how many people will be interested. The subscription booklet asks you to go to the www.007db5.com website to subscribe (though there are other options), but when you try, there is no option to subscribe outside UK/Ireland. It seems to be considerably more expensive here than the UK - $19.99 per issue (except the first two, which are cheaper).
Have you seen this on sale anywhere else in Australia? How about other countries apart from the UK and Ireland?
I'm in Queensland and I haven't seen this in the newsagents yet. Looks like you can subscribe through the Bissettmags website www.bissettmags.com.au (it is in the scroll down options and I could go right through to the checkout option). I've just sent them an e-mail to ask a few questions regarding how often the issues are released and whether this is a trial run etc.
Has anyone assembled the engine yet? If yes, has anyone experienced any probs along the way? I'm undecided what to do now because I really wanted to assemble the whole lot at the end of the run, but now considering doing it as we go along. Apparently some say that screws are missing or not the right ones or something is not fitting together....
What are your views?

Ive assembled what parts I have, just waiting for the fan belt parts, but other than that, goes together very easy.
Some people have even fitted an electric motor to the fan!
I'm concentrating on my display case now.
On another note, it appears GF have had major server problems, that may account for the "no response" to emails chaps.
I would suggest you all try again.

Hi scurr01,
Please let me know once you have a reply from Bissett. I also wonder if it is perhaps a trial run in SA only to test the ground in Australia. However, by now all newsagents in Adelaide seem to have heaps of issue 1. I have even seen a TV ad, but only once, and rather late at night (can't recall which channel). I subscribed on their website about a week after purchasing issue 1, and my subscription number is still only 003, which suggests that no too many people have decided to subscribe, though of course some may be doing it through their newsagents (or still making up their mind). Any other Aussies here interested in this model?
I was until I saw the price. $20 per issue!! What is it like £28 for 4 issues in the UK, so thats about $44. So we are charged double. No way. Especially after the JBCC. Its a nice model, but I cannot justify the cost.
G'day Jag, below is the response I received from Bissett. Hope this is informative.
Dear Andrew,
Thank you for your email.
We advise the Publisher has advised that the South Australian launch of the James Bond DB5 is planned to run without interruption to the final issue. Please be advised that we are unable to guarantee that this will occur due to the many influential factors beyond our control (eg. Shipping delays, customs delays, packing delays, postage delays etc.)
Sincerely,
Pam on behalf of

just had a call from an extrtemely apologetic Ingrid at GE - they are sending me new copies of issues 1 - 7 by first class mail tomorrow !!
Finally, i think all is sorted !!!! So thank you Ingrid !!!!!
Glad to hear, I new some thing must have been wrong, she sorted me out straight away.
It apperas they had a major server failer, hence no emails in or out.
Thanks, scurr01. Looks promising. Are you planning to subscribe?
Dickiebart - I agree about the cost, in fact I already mentioned it in my previous post. Looks like the same exchange rate is being used that was in place about 3 years ago when the JB car collection was introduced. Now that the dollar has gone up I was hoping for a lower price too, but I guess they are trying to get some extra money. Last time the Brits did this to the Americans, Boston Tea Party resulted - so perhaps it's time we votet for a republic too? ) Having said that, I think it's better to have the model released at an inflated price than not at all - it's still cheaper than buying all issues on eBay or some other private import, as the postage costs would add up.
Thanks, scurr01. Looks promising. Are you planning to subscribe?
Most definitely Yes, although the $20 per issue every week is more than I expected this to be. I thought maybe $15 tops and fortnightly issues like the JBCC. I suppose we should be thankful that is available here now.

My thoughts exactly. Also, if the dollar should fall in value over the next year or so, at least this will be our sweetener!
ive now received my complimentary copies of issues 1 - 7,
Ingrid sorted this for me, I'm so happy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and 12 - 15 are now on their way. yay !!!

Glad to hear people are getting their orders sorted. I have to say that when I e-mailed about the damaged AM book I had a response the same day and the book was with me in a couple of weeks. Great service, I feel!
I checked my account on Sunday and noticed I've been charged (again, not 28 days!) but my stuff hasn't been posted yet. Still, I'm not that anxious for it as I won't be building the car until I get all the parts.
Incidentally, has anyone here had dealings with De Agostini? I'm an F1 fan so decided to go for their McLaren partwork as well (and in the process, stop buying food! ). Just wondered if anyone had any idea of their service? I know this is a Bond forum, but I'm sure you guys have other interests too!

They have a habit of not finishing the run of their magazine partworks till the end.
I have a question for those of you guys who are already building the interior. The car seats provided in this collection appear to be black, while the Goldfinger car appears to have had grey seats. Grey seats are also featured in the Danbury Mint 1/24 scale model (where they are also made of real leather). Is anyone repainting their black seats grey, and if so, what colour exactly are you choosing, and why?

Thanks - those build diaries are great. Finally I am glad that in Australia we are behind the UK as I can see what more experienced builders come up with (and possibly where they fail).

Because I was at work she said she'd call me back at 4p.m. and guess what - its now 7.30 pm and still no phone call !!!!
