I'm having problems too, but too difficult to explain completely. In short: they cancelled both my original subscriptions without notice and made one new subscription, so now I have to get it sorted again, since one of my subscriptions is 'missing'.
Evening all, for those of you who want authenticity / accuracy with the build - dont we all !!! - if you google
"james bond aston martin db5 weapons tray" you should get
I got 12 - 15 today too - getting really excited now - its gona be superb when its finished !
so is everyone starting to build it yet or waiting ?????
I am waiting to see some of the more capable ones build theirs I am useless with things like this -{ :007)
I had intended to wait until i had all of the parts in order to build mine, but the way that GEF are doing the packages means that you have to open each of the packages in order to assemble like one component. i realized that if I wasn't careful, i would have lots of "unlabeled" parts which would have been a ballache to work out go where. Thankfully with the dispatches now coming in bundles of 4, you can build the majority of the sections of the vehicle as and when the latest installment arrives. If you just read the assembly instructions on their website for the engine block for example, and then try to locate the components you have wrapped up, in the order you are told to build it, you will see what i mean. I will post pics of how my build is going if anyone wants to see them, but basically so far I have the assembled drivers seat, bulkhead and engine block. unfortunately, due to the loopy order in which the parts are being dispatched, none of these items fit together as yet, so i have had to find a suitable plastic crate or 3 for all the parts - i guess i am not the only one at this stage of the build though!

i took a few pics too
That's all fine, thanks - but we should remember that that car was NOT the one used in any 007 movie but a replica built later. This is shown by some gadgets like rear lights or rego plates looking and/or working differently.

I open mine check it against the blue-print , label it & then I just staple it up again with the printed label..works OK & I know at the end of the collection I have all the parts ready to assemble if desired..Simples. ) -{ :007)
Congrats... Let's see when we will get the first lot!
Issues 1 & 2 arrived yesterday with one screwdriver. I put the driver's seat together straight away, but I am considering repainting it.
I got issues 2 & 3 yesterday - likewise, with just one screwdriver. The enclosed subscription letter said 2 screwdrivers would be included with the first delivery, so I sent Bissett an email about that. Let's see what they say. I have not had time to open the blister packs yet, but will certainly do so to make sure that everything is there and in perfect condition. I am not sure about the seat - will probably think about repainting as well, as the seats in GF were greyish (or grey-green). But there is no hurry here - it only makes sense to paint once we have all seats (front and rear) to make sure the colour is uniform. I am actually glad now that we are behind the UK, but not much. It allows me to follow the Brits here and on the partworks forum and see what ideas they come up from and what problems they are having. Hopefully this will make my work easier and provide inspiration. Incidentally, some of the modification I have seen are fantastic, while some of the others just don't make sense to me.

Can someone link me to the forum some of you keep mentioning please? I've tried to find one on the G.E DB5 website but I can't seem to find it! (You watch, it'll be blatently obvious!)

Hello Jag,
Let us know what they say. I'd say we received the same letter (although I didn't read it thoroughly when I opened it) and mine says I should have received two screwdrivers in the first issue sent out.
Totally agree about there being no rush- receiving the model piece by piece will force me not to rush through it. Some good ideas on the partworks forum, though some seem a little obsessed to me.
They said that they would replace my Fighter Jet Collection model. Huh? I did not subscribe to this collection. OK, you are subscribed to 007 DB5. So was a single screwdriver a mistake? We will replace your issue.
Those people are quick to reply, but it would be nice if they actually read the emails they are responding to!
I didn't realise that the boot opened as well..as there is no mention of it on the web site!!!..but I watched the youtube clip & it shows the boot being opened...Am I just Thick???.....Don,t all answer at once ..It was a retorical question. -{ :007)

"Some good ideas on the partworks forum, though some seem a little obsessed to me".
Agreed, some stunning mods being done, yet I can't help but feel some of it may be a tad OTT as some things are simply not going to be visible once the car is all assembled, i.e intricate 'pipework along the sides of the engine' etc and always the eternal "The 'original' did/didn't have that" debates or "that part should be (insert colour) not black".
For my money the best mod I've seen and would consider doing myself is covering the seats with real leather, done right the effect is stunning.
Got issues 4-7 delivered yesterday. Very happy with the quality. I have been watching the partwork forum as well as various DB5 websites doing research to see what can be modified/improved, how, and whether I am up to it, so now I know exactly what to do... Can't wait for the weekend!
My only criticism so far (apart from the price) is that I am unable to start putting the model together but instead can only build a number of separate parts which will not be joined until much later. This means that there will be a lot of loose, unassembled parts hanging around (front grille, bumper, roof hatch, bonnet etc.) for a long time. I try to keep them in re-sealed original packaging (after checking everything is there and in good condition), but there is still a lot of potential to lose or damage some of the bits.
Recd my issues 16--19 today, plus Goldfinger DVD; cut-down version, no extras. Well, to be fair, two audio commentaries.
So that's all the gifts delivered now.
I see that I'm still missing "Part Identification Sheet 1". There was an insert with my first delivery, back in Feb, saying that it was "to follow", but no sign of it yet. Are others still missing this, also?
I finally got around to calculating the total price, too; perhaps that wasn't wise. 21 installments at £27.96 plus an initial £15.97 == £603.13.
Still, if it turns out nice, and the mags remain interesting...
This partwork will launch tomorrow, 9 May 2011, here in South Africa. I picked up a copy of the "cheapie" Issue #1 at the newsagents today as they were putting out the stock in readiness for tomorrow.
I've skimmed through the booklets but not much new to learn as I have been following this thread.
I'm still considering whether to go with this partwork or not. I have been collecting the James Bond Car Collection and we still have about a year to go with that in this country, so it would mean paying for both at the same time

Can't complain about that service, at least.
No sign of 8--11 yet, though.
Congrats... Let's see when we will get the first lot!

Did everyone rec 2 screwdrivers with 12-15? I didnt. Not sure if I shouldve.
Two drivers come as standard and are two differant sizes.

I actually signed up there yesterday anyway. But I thought there was some kind of official board. Might just have mis-read other's posts though.
