mystery signature??????

I came across this in a copy of Dr No.....Does it mean anything to anyone .....??? I only ask because it looks a bit like an autograph?

This actually belongs in the Literary thread, so I'm moving it. That said, I would imagine what you have is the signature of the person who owned that copy. I've never heard of this man, and it's pretty common for people to write their names in books in case they get lost.
