Received my SE yesterday. Awesome product but the box was damaged in shipping. It didn't hurt the product but for what I paid, I'd like an undamaged box.
Surprised they didn't wrap the product package with a layer of foam or bubble wrap before putting it in the shipping box like Sideshow and most collectibles companies do.
I've written an email to them. Don't really want to return it but I'd like an undamaged box. Anyone else have this issue?

We are sorry to hear that your box was damaged in transit. All packages are sent fully insured and we will make a claim with Fed-Ex and replace gladly.
We will look for your email. If you can send pictures of the damage that is also very helpful.
All cartons are professionally drop tested to protect the product and should not need any additional cushioning, but of course that does not help if the person delivering decides to use it as a football... or physically punches something through the side of the carton
still havent been contacted about second payment, getting a little anxious.
Neither have I. I assume we aren't getting charged until our GG is physically prepared to be sent out? On "My Account" on the Factory Entertainment website it says "NOTE: This order has already shipped or has reached the final stages of processing. Therefore this order is no longer editable.", so I guess it shouldn't be long now {[]
After a long 2 hr drive home through holiday traffic, I find the package wating for me. Everything arrived in pristine condition. Before opening the box, I donned white cotton gloves. 10 minutes later I'm staring at one of the most beautiful reproductions I have ever seen. I cannot get over the weight of it. Very solid!! The quality really shows through. This was definitely worth the wait. BRAVO ZULU to the folks at Factory Entertainment for offering a truely "collector worthy" piece. Many thanks.

I am from Canada, and my order appears to be at the stade of : "Out of Foreign Customs CANADA 11/24/10 10:12pm" (from the USPS website) and nothing has moved yet. Does anyone else from Canada bought the GG and has issues to get his. Because I found very bizzare that there is no update since the 24th, which is not usually the case with UPS our USPS. I am starting to ask myself if they hold it at the customs, because of the fact that it is a gun replica!? Anyway, if any one is in the same situation or knows something about it please post. Thanks
I knew that they were shipping it dissembled... I wasn't very clear sorry... I was more thinking about the bullets.. anyway for what concerning the VAT... usually we pay it at the door.. but in my situation the USPS website still indicating that the article is "Out of Foreign Customs CANADA 11/24/10 10:12pm" without any new ubdates...anyway I will still wait... hope Factory Ent. will be able to answer my questions...
Well I will definitely wait until yours arrives before paying for mine, but I wouldn't worry, because Canada Post and USPS websites do not have as good updates as FedEx or UPS have. They don't write all the steps and they are always very vague.
If you can't trust a Swiss banker, what's the world come to?
Ordered mine off play .com
order went through and I didnt know after reading messages on here wether it would turn up
But very pleased to say it is here! and more amazingly it is no 16
Either wholesaler's had first order or I was just luckly
but what a peice of kit, beautifuly made and presented worth every penny
I have always wanted a golden gun even drew up plans to built my own but found the machining too difficult
):)) :007)
Received mine today...opened it with great excitement! FE did a wonderful job with the exterior package and presentation. Although mine was a bit bumped around as others have as well I am not too concerned as the box will be going into storage, never to be seen of again most likely. The parts went together very well and the luster is really well done. I was hoping to see 007 on the bullet itself but I am quite sure with some simple customizing I can get it there. I received the SE edition and very glad I did. The plaque, when applied to the VERY HEAVY and well made base looks great and the signature are legible and give it the correct "goose bump" factor. The gun "stand" itself is well designed and assures no movement of the gun once placed under the spotless acrylic case. It is at once ergonomic AND subtle so as not taking away from the gun itself. BTW, the gun goes together very easily but if you do get lost a most specific how to comes with the display in a Q blue print form "selling" the piece as an artifact recovered from Q Branch itself. Nice touch and detail that added to the fun factor. I will be placing my extra bullets in the correct cigarette box to finish off the display neatly. All in all spot on and the anticipation was well worth it. Will have more hi-lites in an upcoming podcast on James Bond Holiday gifts...

HI
my package has arrived in the uk so i put the tracking number into the uk site parcel force and the tracking number changed
and the package is now being tracked by them.
the worrying this is that it says the package is being HELD at custums??????????????????
Mine is held by the customs as well. The probable reason: the indication of the content value. If you order something expensive in the U.S. and have it shipped to Europe you're likely to be taxed.
At least USPS and Canada Post have very low fees in addition to the tax, but here in Quebec, Canada, the tax is 15%. In addition to our 50% revenue tax.
If you can't trust a Swiss banker, what's the world come to?
Ouch ! In Holland the tax rate (for this kind of stuff) is 19%. Plus, you have to pay for the tax to be determined and put on a receipt. Yes, that's right: you have to pay for getting taxed 8-).
Nonetheless the gun is really worth it.
I am having a similar situation happen here. I live in Harrisonburg, Va, so I am in the USA. My SE GG was shipped out via FedEx Ground on Monday Nov. 22, and everytime I track it it says "Nov 23, 2010 2:35 AM Arrived at FedEx location Sacramento, Ca". I'm not sure how solid my theory is, but I am thinking the FedEx offices were closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, maybe Black Friday and etc, and that may be part of the delays and why my package hasn't moved in 5 days. What do you all think? Also the estimated delivery date is supposed to be November 30, but at it's current rate that won't happen if it is still in Sacramento.

Hi David… first congratulation with the FE GG… Just wondering how you would compare it with the SD version…
ICS, I would need to play with them a bit more to give a full comparison...they both have their uniqueness and features and benefits. The SD Studios has great heft and feel when held and the luster is very realistic to gold. The FE gun goes together easier and the ability to be able to put a bullet into the chamber brings it up a notch. The FE presentation, especially the signature series, has a great museum quality to it while the SD Studios wood box is subtle but very effective. They both came/come with great tidbits from the movie and creation of the prop while FE has gone with a more modern design of their booklets SD kept in the vein of the era from which TMWTGG was released in.
My first "shot from the hip" comparison leaves me saying what Factory Entertainment has said all along...there is great respect for the SD Studios gun and if you can get one or have one don't let it go. It is a piece of prop replica and Bond replica history. But for my money I need them BOTH, and I suspect if you own an SD you will want an FE as well. AND if you don't own an SD then you will CERTAINLY want the FE!
Regardless, these are almost or ARE sold out so those fence sitters will be pining for an FE some day like others have pined for an SD...
Yesterday morning, mine was listed as being "Out on FedEx vehicle for delivery" but they later added a detail that it would be scheduled for delivery the next business day. So, mine will be in hand sometime tomorrow. B-)

I don't think that's the reason 'cause FE ships GG's dissembled
Perhaps you need to pay VAT for it ?:)

Dave, that Solex looks rather large, is it an industrial one :v
Well back to the GG looks great – from a first look I tend to like the SD version most but perhaps it is just because I am nostalgic… -{
