OK, Im not sure if this is posted in the right section, but with all of the posts about the FE golden gun in this part of the forum I thought I would post this here.
http://gizmodo.com/5599552/this-is-a-gun
Now I know it's not suppoed to be anything like the GG but if somebody can do something as crazy as this and have it coincidentally look vaguely similair to the GG, surely somebody must be able to make an actualy live firing golden gun replica?
Just thought it was quite interesting, mods feel free to move this post or delete it if it's in the wrong place.

Yeah, surely someone could be capable of, But i'd call that as a stupidity to build a live firearm.
Sorry, i must've woken up from the wrong side of bed, but seriously where the **** would you need one? ?:)

Cheers for the link.
ps. I think someone else would also like to share their opinions about "building a live firearm".

way before the FE golden gun was announced, there was a very lengthly discussion about the possibilties/stupidity/practicalities/dangers/legalities of making an actual working golden gun.
the basic conclusion was that;
- yes it would be possible
- yes, it would be extremely stupid for anyone without the needed skills, facilities and legal rights to even contemplate making one.
- no, it wouldn't be very practical or sensible
- yes, you'd most likely blow your hand off if you tried knocking one together in your back shed out of wood, even if it was brass and your grandad made it for you.
- yes, in the UK most certainly it would be highly massively hugely stupidly illegal to attempt to make an actual working golden gun, whether it be an air pistol, cap firing, blank firing, or live round firearm.
so there ya go, nice idea, would work if done properly but extremely dangerous if done otherwise, and regardless of skill, very naughty in the UK.
so i'm lead to believe, the relevant authorities do monitor forums such as ajb and anyone assisting, suggesting or aiding someone in the manufacture of firearms can land themselves, the third party and the forum admins in deep legal ****.
end of peoples.

And before any law enforcemnt agency comes banging on my door, I wasn't planning on attempting to make one or help anyone else make one!
Just thought it was quite an interesting link and a fairly james bond esque gun.

8-) silly boy, i wasn't having a go, rather covering all the bases so we don't have to go through it all again.
personally, i think it'd be bloody cool to have a working golden gun, but i don't think it'd win you any competitions in marksmanship, and unfortunately our democracy over in the United States of England doesn't allow us to be trusted with anything more than a rubber band.
and its not my time of the month, thats next week.

And if the government realises that they can be used for anything other than holding things together, they'll ban them too.
