Diamonds are forever

Its strange that sean connery aged about 15 years in the 4 years since you only live twice. DAF has to be one the the worst bond movies such a let down after the wonderful ohmss, so many faults like why was nothing said about tracy? Moneypenny told bond to bring her back a ring with a diamond would she really say this to a man who's wife was just killed? Nsna was a much better final outing for connery

To be honest, I could care less that this was not a follow up to OHMSS. I thought Diamonds Are Forever was a hilarous film with the funniest lines ever written for the series, I also love Wint and Kidd who bring in a very creepy nature. As for Connery yeah he looked pretty damn bad for someone who was only 41, it had a lot to do with his weight and he became bald very early in his life. I don't know if this is entirely true but Connery ellegedly wore a toupee in every Bond he did.
  • I thought compared to the previous films of the SPECTRE era, 'Diamonds are Forever' was a bit of a let down as Bond film's go. It's hard to escape the fact that they're trying to ignore OHMSS by never mentioning Tracy and I really can't buy Charles Gray as Blofeld.
That's a Smith and Wesson, and you've had your six.

If lazenby had stayed on as Bond I'm sure DAF would of been very different,But as Ricardo c points out it has a really witty script, some of the one liners are LOL Funny. I know it gets slammed and I agree it's not one of the best, but I have a soft spot for it.
One of my fondest memories of christmas is watching it with my Dad, we out voted my Mum who had wanted to watch "The sound of music" so I have to thank it for that at least. :))

AFAIK, he first 'needed' a toupet in Goldfinger...

Apparently as far back as Dr No they used black spray to cover the bald spot.

Yeah, I heard they had a toupe in mind when he first tried out for Dr. No.

Incidently, I think many parts of DAF are all right, but it also has a cheap feel to it. Perhaps it's the Las Vegas setting - it's never going to be Monaco. Whatever, the guy just went old really quick...
Wint and Kidd are brilliant, and I can't believe I never picked up on them being gay until I was seriously old enough to know better. How obvious?

I have to admitt that I always asumed that Connery wore a hair-piece from Dr No onwards,Can't remember where I read it,just always seemed to be in my head. (rather than on it) :v
