Fassbender would be great right now, but probably not in 5-6 years when Craig is done with the role.
Just watched "Black Death," and the mousy monk who takes a dark turn towards the end struck me as somebody who might mature into contention in 5-6 years, Eddie Redmayne, link to pic is here.
Wait a few years, see what develops. Might be wrong, just liked what he did at the end of that film (and Radcliffe would suck as Bond).
I mean Hollywood is littered with actors who as younger men/women looked totally blah: you see any Snake Plisskin in a young Kurt Russell? Joseph Gordon-Levitt is doing roles I never dreamed that dorky kid from 3rd Rock From The Sun would ever do. Mila Kunis was nominated for Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards - really? That whiney chick from That 70s Show? Micheal Keaton, as Batman. Heck, Val Kilmer in Top Secret, as Batman/The Saint, et al. Bill Paxton in any dramatic role (he's the spastic space marine in Aliens, total goober in that film).
Of course my favorite didn't-see-him-coming: Daniel Craig as Bond (totally called that one ).
Kids grow up, some even end up kicking major butt. Happens.

Spot on blueman....totally agree, especially with the who'da thought it with DC....put me down for that club.
I've championed Christian Bale for a number of years now (since before DC got the gig) but I've changed my allegiance now, I think Cavill is the man. Shame he's not getting much support on this poll.
