who is the closest actor to flemings bond?

I know this might be asked a thousand times, but who is the closest to flemings true bond. Not moore, maybe connery or even dalton?

Ha, I've already said this a few times but I think its a mixture of several. Namely Sean, Tim and a bit of Pierce. They all have the look of tall dark sophistication Fleming describes and they all hold certain characteristics. Sean has the toughness, Dalton has the cynicism and Brosnan has a the slightly haunted soul.

Moore I'd say is the least Fleming-like Bond (nothing against his Bond though - whom I love).

Daniel, well in terms of looks not really but in terms of character sometimes. Although I didn't picture him at all in anything outside CR.

George was in one of the more Fleming like stories and had more of a sensitivity to him that was in Fleming's character. He just didn't stick around long enough. I think if he stuck around for a few more he could have been THE closest. As it was I never imagined him in anything outside OHMSS.

I Think Dalton had the closest take on Bond,If he'd only got some stronger scripts.

They all have elements. Dalton was the harder edged and emotional version, Connery was the best of every field, Moore had the lighter touch and the sophistication, and Lazenby was the most real.

Probably the answer would be Connery overall, but I go with George on this one. Fleming's character was flawed and made mistakes. Only George can pull off the realism perfectly.
