Goldfinger remake

This may sound really stupid(most of my ideas are) but what if they made a remake of a great old film like Goldfinger. They would get a new Bond(ion gruffond is my first choice), change the DB5 to a modern car like the vantage, give the ending a few tweaks, put into better action and bingo great film that bond lovers will love.hat do you think? or will it be another NSNA

Well, AVTAK was mostly a re-make of Goldfinger. If they can make it work I'm all for it though.

There is no reason to remake Goldfinger or any of the other Bond movies. The classics movies that closely resemble their source material are great, while the other movies that deviate from the Fleming works stand on their own merit. A remake of Diamonds Are Forever for example, would be ludicrous.

Before the advent of home cinema such as DVD, remakes were necessary to reach new audiences. A remake of Goldfinge isn't neeeded, not when the original is easily available.

Not only no, but HELL NO. Remaking Goldfinger would be like remaking Casablanca or Citizen Kane. It's a great film and perfect as it is. For that matter, it shouldn't be digitally-enhanced, rendered into 3-D, or musicalized for Broadway. Ugh. Now I need to get these thoughts out of my head. . .

I agree - no remakes. The closest to enhancement the films needed they have already got, with the digital clean up. AVTAK shows that as much as reuse can work in the Bond universe, like anything else you can have too much. - To me its the one film that does not work. - Because its entire plot structure is a blatant re-tread. QoS comes second for trying to hard to be something else, and forgetting to be itself (An actual Bond film) in the process.

If I want any of the Bond films, I have it. - Each one is a marker of the time in which it was made. Enough with the prequels, remakes and reboots already!!! - Its time to move forward. :007)
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

No. No for god's sake. The production crew still hasn't ceased to borrow from the old films anyway.

I would like to see 'remakes' in the case of titles like You Only Live Twice, in which the title of a novel was used, but not the plot. That is to say, I'd like to see the unused Fleming novels make it to film. YOLT, Moonraker, etc.

It really wouldn't be a remake. Just re-using (properly using) the title.

To be honest, I've long found the similarity between AVTAK and GF overstated. Different locations, star, no Aston Martin DB5, different looking villain and so on.

As good as GF is, it has a plot unlikely in its present format to appeal much as it's not non-stop action, and once you make it so it's not GF any more.

I slightly enjoyed the Swordfish homage to GF in its climax.

It's pretty noticable. The gold is now mircochips, the conference of conspirators, the switiching of the schemes throughout the film, the loyal henchperson betrayed at the last moment, and the extermination of the villians' workers. The only exception is all this stuff is done incorrectly and amplified to a unessecary degree in A View To a Kill.

Like many I don't want to see any remake of the Bond Films and Infact wish they would stop putting Homages to earlier Bonds in the Modern Ones.Get on with coming up with New ideas and Sequences rather than always trying to put a modern take on an old one.

You've not heard of the new Casablanca project then? Russell Brand is touted to be Rick, Linsey Lohan as Ilsa Lund, Steve Martin as Captain Renault, Fifty Cent as Sam... :))
