I recently finished reading "Faberge's Eggs: One man's masterpieces and the end of an empire" by Tony Faber and thoroughly enjoyed it. It not only provides a good history of Carl Faberge and his business and the history of the Imperial eggs, but also a good overview of the last days of teh Tsar and his family. I've always been interested in the eggs - and the limited edition genuine reproductions - but this was the first book I had read on them. Highly recommended book!
Great collection Kan...I'm jealous! Now, where did I put my Cadbury's Easter Creme Egg?
I am a goldsmith and some of my Easter eggs were used in Octopussy, the Bond film compay Eon Productions borrowed some of my gold eggs that were commissions for Asprey, the company I worked for also made the four prop eggs used in the film, I made some of the parts.

Others on here may know more about the Octopussy ones than I do (ie nothing!), but I'd love to hear more about them and your work on them, Goldsmith. Do Asprey still have them or were they sold? Fascinating stuff.
All of my ten unique 18ct gold eggs were sold. They were commissioned from design by either Asprey or Kutchinsky at the time. I have no idea who now owns them. A lot of my work has been bought from Asprey by both the Sultan of Oman and the family of the Sultan of Brunie. Since I last wrote on this website I have had a photographic book of my unique work published. If anyone is interested see: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Work-Master-Goldsmith-Unique-Collection/dp/0719801028
Looks like a VERY interesting book, Goldsmith.
I assume you are in fact Jamie, from what I read on Amazon??
Hi Adam,
My name is James and I am the author an the subject of the book. If you wish to see any more of my work, just Google my full name of "James Miller FIPG" and on Images you can see example of my work, I also have a few albums of photos on other websites.
I am now retired so please do not ask for Faberge egg replicas.

I know James Miller for a while now and he's been doing a phantastic work! Many of his items are far superior than Faberge's Originals imho and he supported me a lot on the long process of recreating the 1:1 Octopussy egg, which will be finished soon.
Thanks again James and it's my pleasure knowing him -{
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Here is my other favorite - Imperial Coronation Egg
The Octopussy Egg is based on this one - also features in Ocean 12
BTW, this is an actual Faberge piece and not the cheap inferior imitations you find all the time on Ebay.
Hey can you post some pictures of the case( inside and out) for the coronation egg and what markings does the egg have? I notice on the coach it has four rails on top of the coach and I've seen some with 6 like the real egg/coach has.
Thanks, jimmy
