Magnoli Train tie from Casino Royale

DanielCraig007DanielCraig007 Posts: 588MI6 Agent
I have spoken to Mr Magnoli (http://www.magnoliclothiers.com/) about producing this tie.
I have also sent him some pictures of the tie. He needs very clear photos of the tie.

Could someone please post hi resolution blu-ray pics of this tie here so I can send them to Mr Magnoli?

I have the Casino Royale blu-ray but I dont have a blu-ray player in my computer.
Thanks. Anyone interested in this tie?

I'm definitely interested in Magnoli producing the London tie and the PTS tie.

Here are pictures, with style numbers, of swatches that Holden received from his Tom Ford contact at Harrod's:

    London tie:

I assume the swatches would be enough? There's not really a need for any blu-ray pictures if we have these.

    Here's a close-up of the London tie:

Nice one Mac - have you emailed these to Mr Magnoli?
And have you got access to pictures of anymore of the Craig era Bond ties?

I've pictures of swatches from the Bolivia scene and the Greene party tie scene but not of the Kazan tie. However, Magnoli produces replicas of all three of them already.

I haven't emailed them to Mr Magnoli, but I'll do that now (EDIT: Pictures have been sent to Indy Magnoli). I wish the Kazan and Bolivia tie had more of a sheen, but alas.

Here they are just the same:

I sent him along with other members those swatches in the past, but for the train tie they are pretty useless. There is one member here that had scans of the tie. Monza, I think.

Nice work toutbrun - think I night get them made as custom ties if Indy doesn't decide to offer them.
Monza - could you please upload images of the train tie if you've got them? Thanks a lot pal.

I have recently been told by Mr Magnoli that he is working on both the PTS tie and London tie from Quantum of Solace. :D

Lets now get the train tie from Casino Royale going! Swatches and hi res pics will help. Post here if you have them and then ill send them to Mr Magnoli. (The same goes for the pipeline tie from TWINE)

    DanielCraig007,

I must have completely ignored the part where you asked for the CR train tie and there I am giving you the London and PTS ties from QoS. Sorry about that!

I have a blu-ray copy of CR on my Macbook and honestly, the train tie doesn't look all that different from the London tie. Here's a couple screenshots I pulled from the apparent 'blu-ray' copy:

But the London tie is a red tinge?!

I meant to say the pattern doesn't seem all that different from the London tie, but we won't really know until we see a swatch of some kind or a clearer picture.

EDIT: Okay, after looking at the London tie in QoS they're nothing alike. Stricken my last comment, it's totally untrue!

That's music to my ears, as the QoS PTS tie has been on my wishlist for a long time! I can't wait to see Magnoli's replica!

Regarding the CR train tie, it looks to me like a black background, burgundy/red circles or ovals, & white dots in the circles?

    Thanks Monza - top work...

I found this tie by Brioni on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Stunning-Luxury-BRIONI-ROMA-TIE-Silk-NWOT-00289-/250647618217?pt=US_Mens_Ties&hash=item3a5bc322a9

To me, the pattern looks very similar to to CR Montenegro Train tie, although the colours are obviously very different. Perhaps the Train tie was this Brioni design in red & black? Thoughts?
  • MacMac Glasgow, ScotlandPosts: 143MI6 Agent
No, that doesn't look anything like it.

I believe the pattern is a black background, with red rectangles and white dots inside.

Isnt it the same patern as the Montenegro tie but diff colours??

Yes, I have it and I'm very happy with it too!
It's another beautiful tie from Magnoli. I believe Magnoli's ties to be excellent quality and fantastic value for money!

To anyone still interested: I found the tie.

    P_20150309_194438.jpg

Identical in every respect, right? I had bought Magnoli's tie last year, but I was still a little unsatisfied. Magnoli's tie is a very faithful reproduction from dimly-lit screen caps, and perfectly fine as a tie. He'd done the best job he could. But something about the pattern, the colors, the craftsmanship just seemed - and I really really hate to say it because I'm grateful he made it available - cheap. So I was browsing eBay around this time last year, searching for a needle in a haystack, when the needle appeared.

    P_20150309_194550.jpg

So after nine years, what is the identity of the mystery tie?

    P_20150309_194521.jpg

    Yup.

In other news, I have a Magnoli Casino Royale train tie for sale, if anyone's interested.

Honestly, I hear this for the first time - I suspect it's a good company anyway? (sorry, to lazy to check it out on Google right now...)

Brilliant spot btw., makes me hope I will find the PTS cardigan one day finally!

Brooks Brothers is a middle-to-high-end brand in a America. It's the kind of brand that middle management wears. It used to be a very traditional American brand but now they've updated their clothes. However, this tie is from a lower line made especially for outlet stores. I've gotten a number of ties there for 15 USD a piece. It probably came from the Bicester Village outlet store.

Is the red as bright in real life as it is in the photos here? Even in the well-lit promotional stills the tie looks considerably darker.
