A forum for Bond fans, but don't worry, you aren't the first muppet registering just to sell something at an over-inflated price because it may be related to Bond in some way.

I know about private plates and I know the value of them as I have a few and I can promise you that you will be gravely disappointed if you think that you'll make anything near £1500 for a A58 OND.

My earlier comment refers, it's a crap plate (and as it's on a Ford Focus Zetec, it's on a crap car too)

    :))

I was given those figures by several number plate companies.

I didn't attempt to sell it at an overinflated price, those are the high and low estimates I got, because unlike you disco, I don't know anything about private number plates.

I put it on a Bond forum as I thought somebody might be interested in having a Bond number plate.

Not sure why that warrants you insulting me, my plate and my car.

see i had a car to sell once, and it was rather a special edition, there's even a forum for it and a big follwing of the particular make and model.

so i went on to this forum, and ASKED PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE before placing the ad.

they were very welcoming and helped me sell the car to one of their forum members, and they even said thanks for asking before simply registering to place a free ad.

weird that when you use some manners and a bit of common sense, you get a better reception..... 8-)

ps, cheers for calling us all stroke victims, in return for that, you plates ****, having a personallised plate on a bog standard car (ie the plates worth more than the motor) is ****, and you'll never get 2 and half k for it hence me 'ol cockaaany offa, me ol china.

    ie, jog on.

Maybe I've been a little harsh.

My advice re the plate, would be to start the price off at something realistic, like £150. Anything is only worth what someone else is to prepared to pay for it. I think you will get around £250, but no more.

    Good luck.

Yea I love my focus too. The plate came with the car - I just want to sell it as I need the cash and though a bond fan might appreciate it. If it's annoyinh to you guys I'll remove the post.

    edit

Minigeff - I would have asked for permission, I thought that was actually the purpose of this forum 'James Bond Memorabilia, Collecting & Clothing' - obviously not. My mistake. The car is worth more than the plate. Aparrently quite a lot more judging by the comments ha.

You don't need to remove anything, except the licence plate - when you have found a buyer ;)

right before it gets to rattle chucking time, the forum is here for bond fans, and to discuss items, memorabilia and stuff people want and have to sell.

the issue with your plate is

    a) it obvious that you've simply registered here in order to place a free ad. some forum members see this as a bit of a cheeky move.

    b) you item is about as loosely connected to james bond as you could get. AS BOND means not alot, its a bit of a tedious link.

    c) it would have been common courtisy for you to ask before, like i've stated before, its what i did on another forum to avoid pissing any member and mods off.

its obvious what this section of ajb is for, so why thats some reason not to ask if it would be ok first, is a bit lost on me.

thats me 2 cents, and i think i'll leave this one alone now.

    ta,

oh ps, welcome to the forum, don't let the door smack ya arse on the way out. :o

Wow, way to welcome a new member. I think it's a alright plate if you love Audi's. Maybe it's priced high but is it nessasary to flame his thread? Let the guy sell it for whatever he wants. If noone makes an offer he can keep it or lower the price. To jump on him like you guys are doing is childish. I have a low post count. Do i have to worry about getting ridiculed by you kids if i post something for sale thats not up to par with your snobby "Bond" attitude or priced a little more than market value? Maybe he'll will find some rich guy who is an Audi collector and Bond fan who wipes his ass with 1000 dollar bills and would think $2k is pocket change. I have seen BMW custom plates go for 3 times that price.

I think the plate would be ok on an Audi A5. As for making it look like Bond, well the cops are getting way too sensitive to allow it for long. I'm not a huge fan of private plates - I used to have 5MUG "smug" on a very expensive car. I used to get wan**er signs daily, had the car keyed and got pulled over twice by the cops for displaying the plate incorrectly - all within two months.

Welcome to the forum BTW. Stick around and you'll start hating all your favourite Bond films, realised what sh*t half of them really were, come to the conclusion most twelve-year-olds could out-write Fleming and waste too much precious time debating it! :D

Ha. Thanks for the welcome guys - apologies for the mini sh*t storm I seem to have conjured.

I will take the price down as advised. Personally I thought it was a bit pricey - I just took the advice of the plate dudes that gave me the estimates.

Price lowered slightly as per your guys advice - will take it down further if there's no interest in the next 3/4 days. Cheers.
