Looks great on the website. The color looks spot on too!

The color is a bit too purple, but it's quite all right. I hope he used thick silk.

That could just be the flash, toutbrun.

I'll order it and let you all know how it is.

    EDIT: Tie has been ordered!

I must admit, even as a huge fan of Magnoli's work, I'm a little disappointed. Based on the photos & swatches that I've seen on this forum, I was under the impression that the tie was made up of black & royal blue squares. Magnoli's replica has light & navy blue squares. That said, it is still a gorgeous tie that is the closest I'll ever get to owning the original TF one. I will happily add one to my collection, especially given the quality and beauty of Magnoli's other Bond ties that I've ordered. I'm also happy to see that it looks like Magnoli has improved upon the pattern that was previously seen on his Bolivia Champagne tie. It looks more accurate to the pattern on the original TF ties.

But anyways, I guess all this speculation on my part is meaningless until I see the actual tie right in front of me, which I cannot wait to do!

I saw an ALMOST PERFECT copy of the PTS tie at H&M, if you're lucky to find it. I didn't buy it because there was only one left and it had damage, but it was very very very close, especially for the price.

Champagne tie, sadly, is not accurate at all, you're right.

I just spoke with Indy and here's what was said regarding the Magnoli version of the London tie:
Not for at least another month, perhaps a little longer.

I will definitely buy the London tie. I hope it's great! Since he can actually buy the swatch of the fabric on eBay, there should be no excuse! Can't wait!

I know this review is late but I thought I would give a quick review. Good tie but the material and overall quality is thin compared to the Tom Ford. I own the Tom Ford Bolivia tie and the diferences are shocking. I think $60 is a lot to pay for it but it's the closest thing out there at the moment.

Can you provide pictures with your review? Different lighting can affect single pictures, so I always provide multiple pictures with my reviews, especially when I use my camera phone.

I have this tie and it is a little thinner than one would have liked. That said its not overly thin and not something I would worry too much about but you will notice the difference. As to the pattern it is probably the closest one will find in an alternative to the original.

I guess I was just expecting this tie to be a little thicker, more like Magnoli's Kazan Tie and Quantum Tie, both of which I'm very happy with. By the way, I don't think my Tom Ford is the real Bolivia tie either. I think I have the lighter version. Still a great tie non the less.

I don't think the Magnoli has the same effect that the TF. The reflects and shade are different. But it's close. Also, his ties should be self-tipped like the TF.

Yes I'd like to see the feature on his ties also. In addition to that he should do something to improve the dreadful label he sews on the abck of them - change it to something more elegant maybe?

I think it would add a lot. But to be honest, I liked his Wall Street tie, and his recent Bolivia and PTS are not bad, but you can't think that it's the same as the Tom Ford. They have a quality and a glow that I'm not sure you can recreate. I found some pretty good alternatives from other high end brands like Brioni and Borrelli, you have to keep your eyes open for similar patterns, but also quality to pull them off. But I really appreciate his work.

Yeah, I recently picked up another Tom Ford tie (not Bond related). The quality is definitely superior and they are the nicest ties I own.

Hey drum or any of the guys.....any help would be appreciated, do you think either of these are the right ones for the Bolivia tie? Bought both but going to take one back, what do you reckon?

Alec can you post closeups please? Seems like the pattern on the first one is a bit off. Sent a PM

    Thanks

Why is Tom Ford making not self-tipped ties when they used to?? Trying to save money??

Maybe it's a style decision. I prefer a contrasting/coordinating tipping myself, like what Turnbull & Asser does.

Again with the self tipped ties? While it can indicate quality, it doesn't always. Sort of like pick stitching or functional button cuffs. They used to be signs of luxury until the knockoffs caught on. Seeing as how it's only a marginal increase in cost.
