First up has to be this little gem of a flick. Surely due to open the Sundance Festival.

well I'm really looking forward to the "Dream House" (can't think why :)) ) - but now that Craig and Weisz have got together..... the on screen chemistry should be quite interesting to see develop :D

The remake of Straw Dogs, it is my favorite film of all time, so I am expecting to be disappointed, but I am curious.

I can't wait until Cowboys & Aliens comes out. Spielberg, Howard, and Favreau just sound like a winning team. I am sure D. Craig will be great, and hopefully, this will revive Harrison Ford's career. He hasn't made a good movie since Air Force One.

Yes Cowboys and Aliens should be good. D. Craig is also in the CGI Tintin film by Spielberg.

In the Marvel sphere there's Captain America and Thor, and from DC - Green Hornet? and The Green Lantern.

I know its already out in the States, but the Coen Bros True Grit is a February release in South Africa, and is my most hotly anticipated film of 2011.

I'll be seeing the new Conan in august. But my anticipations are pretty low. Looks to be a revision of the Arnold story.

I would have preferred an adaption from one of Robert E. Howard's original tales, but it seems when Conan is mentioned, all some think of is Arnold's 82 movie. Usually loved for it's camp appeal. Sigh.

Marcus Nispel directs, and they did snag Ron Pearlman as Conan's dad, but Nispel's Pathfinder had some pretty dire, cough, acting. I hope his direction has evolved. (Pathfinder also had Vikings sledding) That memory still disturbes my peace.

I wouldn't say I'm hotly anticipating Green Hornet, not to be confused with the upcoming Green Lantern, but it intrigues me. It's got a cool car called Black Beauty. Seems more like Kick-Ass, in that it's sending up the genre and is a comedy, but that can slip into Condorman territory (awful 1970s comedy spoof with Michael Crawford).

It's the sort of film Hardyboy could see at his $2 cinema (he mentions it a lot on the Last Film Seen thread... I've been rereading some of its posts from 2004!) but to pay full whack, say £15, would not be right. Movies have lost that cheap guilty pleasure thrill haven't they, they've got to be the full evening's plush entertainment and priced accordingly.

I think Brand's too young, (and annoying) for the part. Imo.

Dunno, isn't Brand settling down age? Really Moore was too old (and you've read that line before) but seemed young, he would have been late 40s or so, right? Thing is, it might turn out like that Failure to Launch movie.

One of my friends is eagerly anticipating Thor, so I'll be seeing that with him; I myself am looking forward to Captain America.

    Others:

    Battle: Los Angeles
    Fast (and Furious) Five
    Conan
    The Thing
    The Mechanic

...and, of course, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II.

Hmm, the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie isn't getting great reviews. Think I'll give this a miss, didn't bother with the last one either. They keep banging on about how this franchise is built to last and how Depp loves playing the role, gee I can't really see it, it still seems like they're overegging it by going beyond three instalments.

X-Men First Class is getting early rave reviews, saying it's the best Marvel film yet, better than Spiderman 2 and Iron Man even.
