SPOILER: The Cape (USA)

Just saw an advertisement on tv for this show. Looks kind of interesting and was wondering if anyone else planned on watching it. It premieres this Sunday (Jan 9th) and 9pm. It's regular air date looks like Monday at 9pm. Anyone plan on watching? Only downside is, it looks like a mid-season replacement. I always thought mid-season replacement shows weren't that good. We shall see:

Now THIS is how to do a superhero TV show. . .a hero who is genuinely a good guy who wants to do what's right (are you listening, Tim "Split Personality" Burton?); a nasty villain with money and outlandish gadgets; over-the-top action sequences; and a good sense of humor that never goes into camp or self-parody. This show could become a weekly viewing habit.

About 20 minutes in, the show almost lost me. But I stuck with it and glad I did. Some cool special effects and a few neat tricks "The Cape" uses and that's all it takes to make me happy. The circus freaks add a little bit of humor (I bet Rollo will end up stealing the show). Oh, one more thing made me happy:

How can you not like a show where the first segment is Sub-Titled From Russia With Love? Tonights episode introduced us to Gregor The Great. Gregor was the previous owner of the Mysterious Cape that Vince Faraday now wears. Not to bad of an episode, but I'm sure there will be better episodes to follow. I think this was a back story show. It told us who had the cape before and the power the cape has. I bet this cape has a lot more power than Vince knows. And I bet we'll see how much power the Cape has in future shows. One final thought, I'm enjoying how the show has The Cape going to visit with Trip Faraday. It gives Trip hope that one day he'll see his Dad again. It's also cool how Trip loves the comic book The Cape, and Vince (Trips Dad ) can be The Cape for his son. I wonder if Trip will ever figure out that "The Cape" is actually his Dad.
