Given how Indiana Jones was in part inspired by Bond it makes sense that actors should be suitable for both series. Glover was obviously already known to George Lucas having been in The Empire Strikes Back before his turn in FYEO, and John Rhys-Davies role as Salah predated his role in Bond. Connery and Doody's casting may have been inspired by their Bond histories - especially Connery. Though, I'm guessing Alison Doody wasn't well know to the Indy crew despite her small Bond appearance.

The actor Michael Byrne, who played Colonel Vogel in The Last Crusade, also plays a British Naval commander in Tomorrow Never Dies.

The great stuntman/wrestler, Pat Roach, who was in all of the 80s Indys, He was both a Sherpa and the bald soldier who fought Indy under the airplane blades, (Raiders), the giant thuggee who gets caught in the rock crusher, (Doom) and a Gestapo agent in Crusade. Well, he also played a Spectre assassin in Never Say Never Again. (the fight with Connery at Shrublands)

Yeah, I watched a bit of that last night. Bliss.

It had something Crystal Skulls lacked... charm and visual flair.

Connery's performance was great. In one scene I realised he was acting like Billy Connolly, of whom he's a fan. And the likes of Denholm Elliott lent it authority.

Problem with Skulls is, once you get over the fact that Karen Allen looks remarkably young and Shia LaBoef is the up and coming new boy who looks not unlike Ford, neither of 'em are really charming. They become a drag. Ditto Ray Winstone's character...

I remember seeing the trailer for Indy4, the shadow of Him against the car Putting the Hat back on, was great. Then Sadly I watched the film. It was so Bad that for a time It tainted the whole Series.

Indiana Jones movies have always been inspired by the decade they were set in. In the 30s there was the action serials and in the 50s there was the scifi alien invasion films.
