OHMSS thoughts

Just been watching OHMSS in HD, still a brilliant movie, and have come up with some observations:
1) The glovebox telescopic sight could never be zeroed due to it being clamped in the weaver mounts upside down.
2) Bond's lighter is definitely NOT a Dunhill Broadboy, but possibly a Dunhill Rollagas.
3) During the stock car sequence there were numerous Corgi banners displayed, was this the first Bond related product placement?
I also have a question for the board. Given that the original wedding ring is long gone, does anybody have, or know of anybody that has one of the 10 shilling copies that were around at the time? I know one was sold at the last Christies Bond sale. I'm looking for some HQ pictures if possible to commission a goldsmith. Oh and if anyone points me in the direction of Argentina then may you suffer same fate as Lazzar but with the sights raised an inch

At the time of release there was a British Jewellery company producing copies of the Tracy Wedding ring in gold and white metal (Unknown what type) I believe from the one photo I've seen (The Christies Catalogue) that it was pretty accurate. It was sold new for the pricely sum of 10 shillings or £0.50. If memory serves the one that sold at Christies went for almost £1000 which makes it "quite a good investment". I don't know how many of these copies were made but there were a fair amount. Someone must still have one of these copies gathering dust somewhere without even knowing it.
I'm only looking for photos, Pete. Are you sure you haven't got any of the original design drawings anywhere, you've got everything else

Has someone checked this against, what we see in the movie? Can we see there the wording and if yes, is it "World" or "Love"? It's definitely an interesting "case" and so far, I have no real reply on this.
I have only seen one very bad pic of the cheap merchandise ring in the 007 magazine, which came with the ltd. OHMSS VHS tape.

I can't remember which auction it was, first or second, I was at both. I definitely remember one of the copies going to the hammer though. I will have to dig my catalogues out as I have a result sheet in each of them, see if I can scan the picture as well. I suppose the next question is to track the original goldsmith down.

When I am done with the Octopussy egg, the OHMSS ring will be next on my list.

Hi Guys,
The ring was advertised in the British campaign book in the merchandising & promotion section for OHMSS in 1969. Created by Jeremy Gunn of Arts Galore Ltd, Old Bond Street, London. It was due to retail @ 10 shillings or 50p in old money. As a collector I have never seen one one for sale or know of any in private collections. The Arts Galore ring used the phrase "We have all the Time in the World". The Christies ring had the "We have all the Love in the world" phrase. I do not believe this was ever produced although I hope I'm wrong.
I must add there was no illustration in the campaign book, just a description of how the perceived packaging & advertising materials would appear with a suggested retail of 10s 0d or ten bob and no pennies to you governor!

Here is the Christie's pic:
(I think, that I can see a V from "Love" on the very left side).
I have been in touch with Christie's because I wanted to buy the ring from the highest bidder and their reply was, that the ring was pulled back by the seller.

Doesn't the promo adds Connery did for Smirnoff prior to DN's release - and then that brand's aappearance as Bond's vodka of choice in the movie, of course - beat that?
Welll one killed by lezzard Andy who is next

No, Mrs. Bondtoys likes more platinum than gold and of course, she would not be allowed to wear such a ring
My silversmith told me, that he could replicate the ring 1:1 (and some of you have an idea, how good that guy is ) but we have to find a pics from the remaining letters. Anyone?

I thought that once the hammer had fallen that was a sale and couldn't be pulled by the seller, could be wrong though.

Yep, OK you beat me, Smirnoff wins.
Anybody any thoughts on the lighter?
