I lived in Verona, Italy for a summer and was lucky enough to travel around Italy, Austria and Switzerland. Here's a photo of me at the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, which briefly features in TLD
Technically this is the Gloriette, a pavilion that's the highest elevation in the palace gardens. Alas, in this photo you can't tell how far up I am - it was a good half hour hike to get up here from the main palace!
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.

I on the other hand to get to school, had to walk Fourteen miles without shoes up cold cobbled streets, Just in time to turn round and walk home again. Only to have to lick the road clean as Supper. and crawl in to a cardboard box as my bed.
And if you told young people that today they wouldn't believe you. )
Sheer luxury...you had it easy !

Never got into the whole Monty Python adulation thing but there are one or two sets that they did that were just fantastic and that was one of them ...
Oh hello! I was about to submit a saucy snap of Lady Rose, imagining what she must look like (seeing as she hasn't done us the honour) when I came across Kara's cello thing from TLD, that's a Lady Rose! Hence the name then?

If you're lucky, you may see her performed in concert! )

Sorry Lady Rose but that sketch - The Four Yorkshiremen - has nothing to do with Monty Python at all
I'm sure it was written for "At Last....It's The 1948 Show", certainly not Python which was a couple of years off at least. I think the original "four Yorkshiremen" were John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Marty Feldman and Tim Brooke-Taylor - so I can see why people think it was a Python sketch.

Indeed, an evening watching Maryam d'Abo straddling Lady Rose can't be bad at all... {:)

And now for something completely different....
Well, you learn something new everyday !! I had it in my head Micheal Palin had been in the sketch and good old Google showed me that the Pythons had performed it live before so thats where i must have got that from. Phew!
Anyways, its still a great sketch and is quoted regularly ..... especially by us Northerners who live 'down South' ( need a flat cap smilie )

The Pythons have used this sketch in their live shows...well, it is a classic
As a honory grand master and weilder of the sausage - also specialist in black pudding nunchuks, I would appreciate forum members not even to mention Ecky Thump... X-(

You were walking from the palace to the pavillon (pic in the lower left corner)

I used "Lady Rose" as a screen name on other sites, but people always think it refers to a historical romance novel heroine
Or a fortune teller, a Mungo Jerry song or my favourite, a Fender Stratocaster .... I am a woman of many talents
We are vering seriously off topic here ;%
The Pythons have used this sketch in their live shows...well, it is a classic
Or a clogs smilie
Or better still - a black pudding smilie ) Then we can practice the ancient art of "Ecky Thump" - which is a different show altogether
Yeah, well it's not like I watch TLD that often... {:)

And then I realised that unless Craig grew six inches, dyed his hair brown and gained seven stone it ain't gonna happen!
But he didn't have such a beautiful companion either...
