Where is he?

Its a Bond venue. You each have one question and must get there in 10.

Well without sounding stupid, but your brief was, well....brief :))

Perhaps a bit too subtle ?:)

and was the q in the speaqk up dqrling a clue?

    One question each.

    O.K.

    My question, "Where are you"?
  • Napoleon PluralNapoleon Plural LondonPosts: 10,467MI6 Agent
Yeah well I was typing it into a hotel reception internet and the keyboard wasn't quite the same, so a's become q's.

This post rivals my John Barry Top 30 thread for responses! X-(

I like it. Kind of makes sense if somebody is speaking to softly.

Kinda texting code for "Squeek up darling."

Not going to answer my question are you Napoleon.

    O.K. can I have a second question?

    Are you on a continent?

Am I incontinent? The cheek of it!

Oh, er, yeah I'm on a continent.

So you must be in a hotel in a French-speaking country where they use an AZERTY keyboard layout, probably in Monte-Carlo, watching porn like always (that was the easy part ;) ).

Okay, my question: Do you like the porn channels in your hotel?
  • Tokyo MattTokyo Matt Posts: 99MI6 Agent
Rainer, for a moment there I was so impressed. That little bit of keyboard detective work was very good.

So the "q" was a clue, Lexi got it, Napoleon didn't deny it, you called it "the easy part."
    Very good.

Then you went and spoiled it all by asking about porn.

That's a daft question. That question doesn't help at all.
All guys enjoy watching porn whatever country they are in.

Well, O.K., there are guys who enjoy watching porn and there are guys who lie.
  • Napoleon PluralNapoleon Plural LondonPosts: 10,467MI6 Agent
Yes, some good deduction there, it's France.

I tried looking at porn but as it was a hostel, it didn't go down too well with the other inmates... :D

You've had 3 questions. "I won't ask politely next time." And it's a venue, remember.

    What's wrong with today's youth?

Well, I thought that you'd be in Monte-Carlo, doing your famous Henry Cavill impersonation, accompanied by Alessandra after contacting her via your henrycavill@freemail.com address. "Oh, monsieur Cavill, we are so sorry to hear that your passeport and credit card have been stolen, but the President Suite is of course always ready for you!"

But as you are staying in a hostel, then I have to say Paris. And the Bond venue must be the Eiffel Tower. :007)

Close, very close but no cigar.

    It's in Paris.

    Six questions left.

No, it's in Paris, not near it.

Moore or Connery, books or films, inside venue or outside venue?

These are the questions that narrow it down.

Ok, but you might have to put it up to 20 questions :)) for us slow learners.
Is it from the Connery era.

Oh? I never read that one.

    Okay, here you go!

    The Answer

Mind you, I didn't get to go there in the end. I mentioned it to my sister and she said, no, I don't want to go where a load of fat Americans hang out. (She has her brother's talent for international relations). Mind you, we did end up in Joe Allens in Etienne Metier and that's a great venue.

This was the venue where Bond lost his virginity and pocket book, an event elaborated on by John Pearson in his James Bond biography.

Nice to see it NP, It's been years since I read a Fleming Bond novel, so I was scuppered from the get go. :))
