Great spot, great fun, great people!

Should do this more often and next time, that I am here, you can count on me! -{

    Would there be any AJBers in California potentially interested in a meet-up this summer?

    I'm in California myself but couldn't understand where you said you would be located. Always interested in meeting fellow AJBers if my schedule allows me to.

    Apologies for the confusion, Mr. Martini - I'm currently in Los Angeles finishing up grad school, but I'll be returning to the San Francisco Bay Area for the summer. If I remember correctly, you live in the Bay Area?

    Looks like there are enough people in the bay area to warrant a meet and greet of some sort.

    For the Bay Area folks, perhaps we could meet near the end of May in Palo Alto? I'd normally suggest earlier, but I don't graduate until mid May

    I'm generally flexible on time and place. I find myself wracking my brain for an AVTAK location that would support such a meeting. Perhaps Herr Gumbold's HMSS Aston-Martin DBS project will be available for view by this summer. That would be an occasion for a get together.

    I had several AJB Summit meetings with fellow AJBer Tee Hee a few years back...sadly, he's moved back north and I haven't seen him lately. Still chat with him on Facebook from time to time...

    Always open to meeting AJBers...I'm hoping to have a more open schedule in the future, and definitely plan on hitting the UK... B-)

    Now that's timing. If I remember correctly I'm on vacation starting the week of May22nd. It's one week only so maybe a meet and greet on the 28th?

    Tentatively I think that should work - I mentioned Palo Alto because I'm guessing that's a midpoint for AJBers in San Francisco and those further south in the Silicon Valley area that's easily accessible by Caltrain. I wouldn't mind meeting up in San Francisco if we can find someplace specific that's easily accessible by public transportation.

    Not sure what's in the city. BART goes straight through the heart of the city. Maybe something along the BART line. You mentioned Palo Alto and I know Cooks Seafood is in Menlo Park, near the Palo Alto border. Mike Z, what do you suggest? Any other SF Bay Area people in here want to join this and have any suggestions?

    With the variety of food and drink establishments at our fingertips here, the world is our oyster. The 28th is a good date to shoot for I think.

    I actually rewatched AVTAK today hoping for some inspiration in the form of a Bond-themed, identifiable meeting spot and aside from pier 39, city hall and Japan town, there isn't exactly a lot of geographical accuracy there. I'll do some recon for a public transport-friendly spot here in the city (but again, I don't mind crossing a bridge or heading down the peninsula).

    Maybe we should put a shout out on the general Bond board about this when it's more nailed down.

    ^A Bond themed place you say? When searching for places in Palo Alto I ran across a Bond place. Too bad it's a tad bit expensive and only open for dinner:

    I think a daytime meeting would be preferable unless it'd be more convenient for everyone to get dinner together.

    Alas, SF's Japantown has shrunk to 2 shopping centers last time I was there as the neighborhood becomes more gentrified. Palo Alto has some (non-Bond themed) coffee shops around University Ave. that are good meeting spots. Mike Z, do you know of any good restaurants/coffee shops around Pier 39 or City Hall?
