    I wish I could go - Dodd was Barry's chosen conductor for his later scores and will surely do justice to his music in concert. I just wish there was a program available!
    Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.

    At this point I wish I was living in Britain...it looks like it will be quite an event. I am a huge fan of Barry's music - his non-Bond work as much as his Bond stuff.

    In school, we watched a film called Dances With Wolves. Prior to that, I had found out John Barry composed the score. This was the main thing I paid attention to in the film and I was quite impressed. I definitely heard some Bond traits of the music, like the horns from The Living Daylights for example. That same patriotic style found in the horn section appeared in this film. I do appreciate Barry's work outside of the Bond films and I would give my right arm in order to attend this Memorial Concert. If only I wasn't overseas, I would purchase my tickets in a heartbeat.

    Zorin, you say you would give your right arm, but won't travel overseas. That is an odd set of priorities! :#

    What if I were to arrange to have your arm amputated, in return for which I purchase your airtickets. PM me.
    Sorry Zorin, read a lot of Roal Dahl when I was young

    Do they cost and arm and a leg? :D

    BTW it seems to be made possible by a hefty donation by the Broccolis, v nice esp as someone on mi6.co.uk (in its old carnation) was saying how bad it was the family hadn't commented on Barry's passing.

    I wonder what they cost? Several years ago I went to a John Barry concert at the Albert Hall and we were
    in the 6th row. Tickets then were £32 (about$50).

    We briefly praised him afterwards at the stage door, and got autographs on the programme.

    I am a big John Barry music fan and play his music on the car CD every day.

    He conducted the orchestra at the end of The Living Daylights you know !

    I was expecting the £30-50 mark. I'd be willing to pay that much due to the almost guaranteed quality.

    Plus it's a very short train ride to London from sunny Oxford. -{

    Anyone up for sharing a box? We can discuss how much more pipeline we'll need and from which holdings to distribute the funds.
