Yeah, I mean you see the headlines today, Bin Laden Unharmed. After all that...
Oh no, right, it says Unarmed.
Jokin' aside, I have to agree with welshboy78. It's like the worst kind of propaganda, put out a story that gets the world on your side, then reverse or alter it. He was resisting arrest! Kill him! Oh, no, he was unarmed. He was using a woman as a shield! Tells you all you need to know about the so and so! Oh, no probably wasn't as the woman just got shot in the leg.
Impropaganda.
You almost get the impression that they wanted to quickly kill Bin Laden to keep him quiet, lest he spill the beans. Again, I don't usually go with conspiracies and he's better dead than alive, if that's the case. But still.
The initial reports on almost any breaking news event are revised later. The actual assault took place late afternoon U.S. time, by Sunday night reports were out that Osama was dead. By Monday morning papers were reporting how the events played out, most of the stories were based on "sources". No chance the Navy Seals and CIA Operatives that assaulted the compound had been debriefed yet. Therefore I am not surprised some of the “facts" are being corrected.
I will add, and this is just my opinion, I don't think they had any intention of capturing him, they intended to kill him and I am have no problem with that.

Totally agree with all that Barry except it was indeed the white house official quoted who claimed he was using a human shield and armed etc not the papers. They would have been better saying as little as possible and waiting a few days to establish the story rather then have to revise and contradict themselves as it makes them look pretty daft in my opinon considering how serious this matter is. Its all a bit of a mess in my opinion which is a shame considering the missions success and all the brave / hard work by the SEALS.
In todays news Bin Ladens daughter is being reported as saying he was shot after capture. Firstly this is the first acknowledgment by the "other side" that he is indeed dead however it also (if true of course) proves it was indeed an assasination and makes a further tangle of the info coming out from the White House officials who says he resisted capture.
Im just amazed how they have jumped the gun with the first bit of info, somebody was clearly over excited and should have kept quiet as now its difficult to believe any further info which I imagine would please certain organisations
The picture reminds me of the film Patriot Games, as the SAS went into Libya or wherever and the CIA watched it on live footage...
We will never know the score fully. Even if one of the SEALs puts pen to paper someday and publishes a book. I served in the first Gulf War Desert Shield/Storm and I know someone who looked into the whole Bravo Two Zero operation - the contacts with the enemy, the escape and evasion, the capture etc and the conflicting claims made by both the succesful authors out of that patrol. The facts and bodycount have conflicted the reports and the MOD's reports. Andy MacNab's book seems to be about 20% fact and 80% fiction. Chris Ryan seems to back up some of Andy MacNab's claims, but all are at odds with the surviving members of the patrol, and certainly at odds with the Iraqi civilians who lived in the area.
Conspiracy theorists will have a field day with this - Osama was killed ages ago and his body frozen to drop in a convenient location when it was politically viable/it wasn't Osama but merely a lookalike thus the hasty buriel at sea/He was armed/Unarmed/Hid behind his wife - had no wife/His body was faked and buried at sea and he is now in an underground security compound being interrorgated... Whatever, with this news he is either dead or being asked some lengthy questions - either way he is out of the way and will be of no further threat.
Hopefully...

Ha - it really is like a hollywood movie with all the "facts". I mean dumping him off end of an aircraft carrier reminds me of Megatron in Transformers!!!
I guess if his daughter really witnessed him being shot and speaks out about it (which news stories are saying today) then I guess that may help against conspiracy theorys as it is coming from Bin Ladens family and confirms he was there and killed.
If the SEALS were filming in it on helmet cams then it must make some hell of a footage especially the moment they make visual contact with Bin Laden in a room. Spooky stuff!
EDIT: I see CIA Chief Leon Panetta mentionss they only had footage of outside the compound, was a blackout for 25 mins whilst they were inside
I imagine they chose to put the President off centre to show he was part of the group and the emphasis was on the operation and the people in the room as a whole. These things are usually well thought out. It kind of takes the focus off him. I like Hilary Clinton's covered mouth - she should use that look more often. )

While we are on this topic, let me comment on how poor the news coverage was Sunday night, as events unfolded. Upon hearing that Osama was dead, I turned the television on and watched both CNN and Fox’s News. Both reported Osama was dead and both filled the air with conjecture. Fox’s had a scrolling blurb stating he was killed by a missile. CNN had a retired General on, who stated most likely he was killed using a Drone. Later, CNN or Fox, I forget which, said it was a bomb.
I understand they have time to fill, but it seems to me a news organization should wait until they have all the facts, before reporting anything of substance. Being first, but wrong, shouldn't earn you accolades.
I only found out in the newspaper that day that 'Enry Cooper the boxer had died, v poor with rolling news along the bottom of the screen on BBC News 24 and Sky.

Is that all they did on the T.V. that day to remember him. Rolling news along the bottom of the screen..........
Dissapointing. Shame. Sad. ****.
I think he deserved a little bit more respect and remembrance than that.
This is also quite a picture from the White House Situation room. This picture is said to be taken as the raid happened:
I'm sure there will be a lot of this kind of thing being banded about. These are courtesy of David Letterman............Top ten things overheard in the situation room
10. We have got to get together for covert special ops raids more often.
9. Are we shooting this in the studio where we faked the moon landing?
8. Someone run to the store and get daddy a pack of smokes.
7. Hit pause. I gotta take a leak.
6. These vibrating chairs are the best money we ever spent.
5. Biden. Wake up!
4. Mind if we switch over to the Celtics game for a second?
3. We should totally post this on youtube.
2. Seriously Joe, wake up!
1. I wish Dick Chaney were alive to watch this.
Some of Letterman's Top Ten Last Words of Bin Laden were O.K.

"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
Apparantly Pakistan has issued a very stern warning to the United States.
They didn't appreciate the raid and killing on their territory, which they had not okayed.
They are warning the States that they had better not do that again.
The States have promised Pakistan, "O.K. we won't kill Osama Bin Laden again."
Bin Laden should of got Josef Fritzl to build his secret compound.
I'm glad the Americans had said they won't do it again, after all those Navy Seals arn't a crack special forces unit, their just "Very Naughty Boys " )
Bin Laden's wife #2 took home the dvd of QOS, old Bin wasn't Impressed " They need frantic editing like I need a Hole in the head " )
It's great when I can do a Bin Laden gag and still work QOS into it .

Why did Bin Laden build such a shoddy lair
Looks like they sat the President at the kiddie table...the officer sitting there playing WoW got the comfy chair.
