Shouldn't Bond 23 really be Bond 24?

I'd love to see that! It would probably still be a pretty weak Bond film, but significantly improved in my opinion. That miserable score really bugged the hell of of me more than anything else about NSNA.

I have the special edition DVD of nsna that was released in the USA a couple of years ago, For some reason it has not been released in the Uk , The only dvd of nsna available in the uk is the 1999 release that only has the film and the trailer on it.

So I've often wondered for those who don't consider NSNA to be a true Bond movie - when asked how many times did Sean Connery play Bond, what is your answer?

The correct answer ( ;) ) is that he made 6 Bond films and one other film in which he played James Bond.

Personally I don't count NSNA as a 'Bond' film as it is not an EON production, it was a rival production. Does that mean that I can't enjoy it? No, but it's not a true 'Bond' film for me.

Since MGM now own NSNA I think it should be included in any future Bond box set. Would it be inserted after DAF or Eyes Only?

Maybe they should also remix it, like that guy did on YouTube and re-issue it as Sean Connery's forgotten Bond film. Hell, life is just too confusing sometimes...

To sort of iterate a point, do they include Tarzan the Fearless (1933), The New Adventures of Tarzan (1935), Tarzan and the Green Goddess (1938), Tarzan's Revenge (1938), Tarzan's Jungle Rebellion (1967) and Tarzan's Deadly Silence (1970) as official entries in the Tarzan canon? Probably not. While they all had perfectly legitimate rights to make films, those productions were not part of the extended consecutive list (sound movies only) which started in 1932 and continued to 1968 and passed from MGM to RKO and onto Sol Lesser Independents. It's much the same scenario (ish).

    Amen to that.

    Competition may have helped, indeed.
