why the change in cover art

I was just wondering why the UK seems to get the better cover art for the books.

Well...not all the time...a couple of years back the US got some great covers to the re-printed Fleming novels...it took awhile for them to get to the UK....

"Because, dear boy, we have taste and finesse." :D

Actually, that's one of the few colour pictures of Fleming I've seen, come to think of it.

Well, leave it a while, it's supposed to be raining the rest of the summer.

Actually you're right, those 1950s books are great in the UK pan editions but the US ones don't prompt one to get out the wallet. One exception is an outrageous Live And Let Die cover with two lithe black men holding Bond down while a white and virginial Solitaire writhes before him and Mr Big looks on... I quite liked that one, it's so unPC.

    Oh, here we are:

Just one black guy holding Bond down, hmm, I 'misspoke'.
