My Bond Shoulder Holster

Hey everybody,
New to the forums here, but not to the Bond world! Looks like a great forum here and I'll be sticking around... If you let me :p

Anyway, I thought I'd share with my fellow Bond fanatics my attempt at a connery style shoulder Holster. Unfortunately I didn't have any blue material so I used what I had (Black leather) to practice with until I can find the right material. I seem to remember Lazenby had a black one in OHMSS so I guess mine can be a Connery/Lazenby Hybrid? haha anyway here it is (not together yet... waiting for my girlfriend to do the sewing part for me :p ) with my Walther PPK-L

Used my exact copy from DG for reference. Only reason I made this was for something to do with some leather I found in my shed :))

Looking good! Did you design it just from screenshots or have you been lucky enough to obtain a template? Either way well done! :)

My template came from a professional holster maker that made a one off for me at a hefty price. However it was not 100% accurate. So I set about making my own accurate version. And so it goes.

    Hi DG

Do you know if Connery's original holster still exists somewhere?

    Hi DG

I've heard that it does exist. But you must remember there were at least three different versions that Connery wore in the early Bond movies. So which one exists in a private collection is hard to say. I've only heard that it exists through word of mouth. A picture of it would prove it definitively I would imagine (along with some type of pedigree). Connery also wore a different version in DAF. So again which version exists in a private collection?

Thanks, DG! I would love to see a closeup photo of one of the originals but if they do exist and are locked away in private collections there isn't too much hope of that I guess.

You're quite welcome. You never know, perhaps it will surface. If it surfaces in an auction catalog, be very very carefull! Even big auction houses "screw the pooch". I've seen it happen many times. Remember the edict of the Wu Tang Clan back in 1993 - C.R.E.A.M. "Cash Rules Everything Around Me, CREAM, get the money, dollar dollar bill y'all".

If one ever comes up for auction I dread to think how much it would fetch. But like you say, it would need plenty of provenance to authenticate it.
