What does he believe in? Protestant Church of England? Agnostic? Atheist?
Anything in the books or films that shed a light on this?

    Good question, Just my opinion.
Fleming was raised a scotish protestant so I assume he'd of Made Bond the same, or a least church of England. Although I never got the impression Bond was very religeous from either the Novels or Movies.

So hes probably a protestant... possibly member of the church of england.. but is he religious? does he believe in god..? Maybe Fleming and later Salzman/Broccoli avoided this issue. We dont really know that much about Bond... And maybe thats a good thing... More mysterious..

Unfortunaletly, Religion is one of those "Hot Subjects" , which I think most artists would stay away from, Life in movies/novels is simpler without it.
I'm sure more learned members will have more informed views, But from my reading of the novels I never got the impression that Bond was religious. In the Benson novel "Zero minus ten" when Bond gets lost in the Outback,He mentions a "walkabout" the aborigines go on to find "God/themselves" and has Bond thinking he could understand it,as he looked up at the stars.
I think Bond is too self-reliant, and grounded in the real world,He's seen the evil Men can do, and it comes from their own greed and vengence. Interesting topic.

I think Bond would be too much of a realist to take much stock in religion. He knows what people can do, and knows what he has had to do. I think he takes solace in a good drink and warm embrace.

Although it would be fun to see Bond banging a tamborine and singing "Yes, Jesus Loves Me" outside some shopping center :))

With this topic we are in even murkier water than with his Politics, and with less to go on.

I think Bond would have to be either agnostic or atheist in order to do the job he does, and live the life he er, ... lives ... 8-)

Though funnily enough, both Connery and Craig have both played Catholic monks on the big screen in acclaimed films!

Bond wouldn't be an Athiest, He'd get no Holidays. :))

"My family is strict Roman Catholic."
"I do hate it when religion comes between us."

I'm pretty sure Bond is an Agnostic. He may be open to the idea of religion but he just doesn't have time for it.

I suspect he is a member of the church of England, but doesn't consider himself a believer. The type of man who goes to church for funerals and marriages. But "in the trenches there are no atheists", they say. Perhaps with the dangerous life he lives and all the friends and lovers who have died, I think he may very well harbor some religious feelings hidden deep somewhere.

Bond certainly believes in God. In the Novel Dr. No he tells the villain "You'll fry in Hell for this." Then later wonders what his own fate will be and whether he will go to Heaven or Hell.
In Goldfinger he muses about Heaven and what Heaven might be like. Is it a big place with cities and towns?
He doesn't brood much on the topic but as Bond ages in the series he does think about it a little. Does he believe in God? Yes.
Is he planning to quit his job, take up chicken farming, clean up his act, go to church and pay his tithes? I'm guessing..... No.
