That's right...and maybe, in years gone by and different times, these interviews with the 'salty language' were edited - or just re-written before publication...20 years ago profanity wouldn't have been allowed in most magazines/newspapers...and certainly not on TV...didn't mean people didn't swear :))

No maybe about it. I remember not long after he was picked to play Bond, Dalton was complaining about stupid questions from journalists. He reported that someone asked him what is the first thing he does in the morning and he replied with, "I probably take a . . . " Well, rhymes with "hit". . .

All true... and yet... with Winslet I do get the feeling her swearing slightly adds to her personality and has a certain flow and eloquence, whereas with Craig it has the opposite effect, like he's using it as a barrier or defensive mechanism, a bit of bluster.

I mean, would anyone think better of Clooney if he started effing and binding in an interview? I doubt it.

Of course, when women do some things it has a different vibe to men, no getting away from it. They can walk barefoot around the office on a summer's day, blokes can't with their charcoal grey trousers flapping around their hairy ankles.

Craig's also too short, he needs to do something about that, pronto!

Then again, maybe they actually spoke intelligently. Perhaps they had manners and when they were at a formal function like an interview, they were polite and tried to carry on a civilized conversation. Swearing shows a lack of imagination, can't think of any other word to use so I will just throw in a swear word. How you speak in your house is your business, when in public, or in this case during an interview to be published, swearing shows a lack of politeness, intelligence and respect. Doesn't matter if it is Craig or somebody else, I don't like it.

Craig apoligists can carry on. lol.

Me next with your rose-tinted glasses please, Barry :))

The years may change but people do not...read some of the autobiographies from the film stars back then ;) The film studios controlled the media back then...

I think only Moore meets that standard, Barry. Not Connery, not Laz, not Dalton (lol at his morning routine), certainly not Brosnan (his Playboy interview set a high point not even Craig has managed to match). If polite interviews really matter to you, odd you're a Bond fan as that just doesn't add up.

Ah c'mon Brosnan was the pro just like Moore. I've never read his Playboy interview and most haven't. Connery did do good stuff in the early days, but sucked from YOLT onwards and was very awkward in TV interviews around the 1980s, as a fan it did make me cringe.

Bros had the bad habit of knocking the previous Bond film during the publicity campaign for the current one (talked smack about GE during press junket for TND, etc.), then carried that behavior over after EON replaced him (the Playboy interview, more F-bombs in one place than Craig's interviews combined, lol). Not gracious by any standard, and far far short of the one set by Moore.

What's interesting to me is that Bros always seemed to want to be seen as taking the high road when he obviously wasn't; Craig on the other hand simply is himself, take it or leave it. The honesty is refreshing. :007)

Lol out of curiosity I checked out the Brosnan Playboy interview:
    Brosnan:

I would like to see this film be a glorious poke in the eye to certain parties and to be a success and have other glorious roles follow in it’s wake. [...] When the f*ckers try and hem you in with Bond, it’s great to come back with The Matador. It’s great to say, “F*ck you, a**hole. F*ck you who wouldn’t give me a job. F*ck you who thought I was some wuss. F*uck you, who thought I was a pretty boy. F*ck you, who thought anything of me without even knowing me or giving me the chance. F*ck you.” But when you go around with all that inside you all the time, you end up completely mangled so you have to let it go.

There have been so many movies that I have delved heavily into the making-of to prepare myself for their release. Strangely enough, none of them have been Bond films. The only tidbits I really need to know before a Bond film's release are: 1) Who's playing Bond, 2) What's the movie called, 3) Who's doing the title song, 4) What does the Bond girl look like. I don't concern myself with plot details, locations, names of actors and who they're playing, weapons, vehicles and editing style until after I've seen it. My history with Bond goes nearly as far back as I can remember, and it's one of the few things I like being surprised by. As for personality of Mr. Craig, I think he's fully entitled to conduct himself how he chooses. I don't know him, so I can't vouch for his personality ticks. What I *do* know is he presents himself very well on screen as my favorite character, and that's all that matters to me.

Hi 7707, Craig is very Popular her at AJB007. I'm just not one of his fans. Still welcome aboard, I'll look forward to reading your thoughts on all things Bond. -{ , who knows we might agree on many of them. :))
Division here at ajb007, Thats never happened Before. :D

You will never have a division with me pussy so long as you keep coming up with brilliant ideas, like say, 3 way lesbian hench villainess with bottles of oil and two much time to kill, before they kill :)) :))

That puts a new meaning to Bond rolling dice in a casino and going " I want 3 the hard way " :D B-) :D

If only the'd put the odd line like that in the next couple of Bond films, I do miss a good Double Entendre :))
