Sorry for no update for the past two weeks, I was really busy because of the start of my academic year! Anyway - I lost over 8kg by know, which is insane and I think I might gain 1 or 2kg back because for instance I lost recently 1kg over one day (and 1cm in waist, so that wasn't only water definitely) but it's just unhealthy to loose so much in such a short period of time.
Also I seem to be very exhausted because currently I rarely can make 10km because I always get a bellyache somewhere around 5km and it's impossible for me to run further. I might take a day or two off from running.
Anyway, here's a comparison between the photo from two months ago and from yesterday. I think the difference is pretty visible now. Cheers!
Mr Zareba, I don't mean to be discouraging but which is the before and which is the after? You look fatter in the picture on the right.
I can't help thinking your regime could be better, though 8kg is not to be sniffed at I must say. I just don't agree with excessive running to get the weight down, I don't think you need to do that. Just cut out sugar and bad carbs, then a bit of a jog imo.
And have you done the plank to tighten the stomach muscles up?
I'm doing running and a whole bunch of Runtastic excersises. When I will eventually reach 90kg (currently around 94) I will go back to the gym.
As for the photo - sure, I understand but surprisingly most of the people said that there is a difference, especially that the upper abs are comming out. My waist size also speaks for itself - a drop from 113cm down to 107cm is something!
As for the running I'm not doing it to loose weight only, it's my hobby and I really enjoy it so I run as much as I can, before my studies I had no sedentary lifestyle so I'm able to do this without being totally exhausted.
Keep it up mate, it is working. {[]
Anyone any views on " leg ups" for strengthening stomach muscles ?
as I remember being told ( admittedly, years ago ) that it was one of the
Best exercises to do for a flat stomach ? Or am I out of date again ! )

Actually even the Runtastic Six Pack app has this exercise included in the training program! It is working and it's a great exercise for the middle and bottom abs but since I have still a belly I can't really see the muscles :< I will probably start to see them around 90kg, so it's another month of working out.
Have not been on this thread in ages simply because ive done some damage to the ligaments (i think) in my right arm (elbow area). Struggle to hold a kettle with my right arm let alone light dumbells - pretty much pissing me off now as ive rested it for 3 months, worn supports, been fobbed off by multiple doctors!
All im good for is cardio and swimming, my muscle mass has shrunk considerably!!

Sorry to hear that mate! My friend had a prolapsed spinal disc because of deadlifting and he might never work out with weights again unfortunately. Hopefully you will find your way back to the gym soon!
A long time ago, during my Karate days, I pull a ligament around
My knee. I was on crutches for months and even after, walking
With a stick, my knee wouldn't fully lock into place. Which meant
at times, I'd veer off at an angle. )
So hope with rest it will right itself, Welshboy78. {[]

I used to do tons of dips & pull-ups but I tore a ligamen that holds the collar bone in place, so for ten years I haven't been able to do my two favourite exercises. So I substitute Dynamic Tension via gung fu. I do a set of Wing Chun moves slowly with muscles tenced to the maximum. It's surprising how much muscle tone you can get in just a few minutes a day.
Yeah for sure!! Tempted to try some ultra ultra light weights tomorrow and see what happens
The key to everyday fitness is to do in your workout at least twice what real life requires, then you can move it up if you want. I always take stairs two at a time. Downside is that when I'm talking to a co-worker walking up stairs the normal way, I feel like I'm moving in slow motion. 8-) )
I've been lurking on this thread for quite sometime but always find this thread motivating. I'm not in the best physical shape but I'm pretty darn active. I've been spinning a few times a week over the last few years. Recently in the last few months I started taking Aerial classes (trapeze, lyra, aerial silks) for weight training. I've seen a huge improvement in my upper body muscles... though my weight is still not at where I want it to be. Unfortunately this past week I had to stop aerial training (and will be off for a while) because I injured my right wrist during my sleep but i'm going to incorporate leg lifts and other lower ab work to keep the core strong until I'm ready to go back.
welshboy78 - have you tried acupuncture? I had tendonitis on my left wrist and went for acupuncture treatment. Things kinda improved over 3 months of treatment... and then the pain suddenly stopped. If you're muscles/tendons are no longer inflamed, then I'm with chrisisall - you probably now need to work through all of your developed scar tissue and rebuild your strength. I had to do that with my left wrist, that was 2 years ago and its still not 100% better but it has improved tremendously.
MrZareba - keep up the good work! I noticed a difference in your photo post. I wish I could run constantly but I've got flat feet... hence the spinning ) Do you do any weight and/or core training? I kind of plateaued off from spinning and haven't been able to loose much which is why I took up aerial...
Oh I loved Martial arts ( would recommend it to anyone) although
I did old fashioned Wado Ryu Karate. {[] mixed with kick boxing !
It gives you great confidence, which is great for job interviews etc. -{
