Keep an eye for online coupons. I got them for $10 off ($49.50 instead of $59.50), + 30% off online coupon (do a search) and free shipping over $50.
Yeah for those who aren't familiar, Gap Inc. hosts multiple major sale discounts each week on its brands including Gap, Banana Republic, and the others. Never pay full price at a Gap brand because in just a few days you will see at least another 30% off pop up.
I believe I tried these Dockers and liked them. The khaki color was close, and they felt great. I may end up buying them, and getting the stone ones from banana republic.
the banana republic ones are nice (as I said I have a pair of the slimmer version) They do, however need to be ironed, as they are definitely not wrinkle free.
Whether they are accurate in the details or not is not a big deal. Those really fall in line with the right look and appearance, so at the very least, the impression given by them is fantastic. I think you are on the right track as far as alternatives, so good find! Do you have to size up to account for the shrink? Thanks for sharing.
I've been researching those that enjoy doing the shrinking process, and it SOUNDS like you would want to be true-to-size on the waist, to get a nice, fitted look, but to size a few inches up on the inseam for the shrinking.
As I would almost certainly TAPER these pants, length is not an issue, as I would hem them once they were "done" shrinking (I've read they'll continue to shrink for a few washes, so it's not recommended to wash them until absolutely necessary).
I'm just so in love with the color of the Sand Pit 306s, but was surprised at how the 501s (despite being lighter) looked pretty good! Granted, I was grabbing my pant leg to kind of gauge how a shrinking session would look, and tucked the bottom of the hem up into the leg of the jean to simulate a taper and a hem. Looked better than I thought it would!

I bought a pair of these in a different color for my little brother, because he has a 29 inch waist, and a 35 inch inseam. They shrunk everywhere, not just in the inseam. My brother's pair has become quite formfitting. The color also fades considerably over time.
Those guys right there. The Levi's 508 (apparently a rebranding of the 521 from years ago, if anyone is familiar) in the right color.
The material is all cotton, and so it's not Sta-Prest, but it's basically what everyone is looking for. It isn't denim, so calling them jeans throws me off, but then the Sta-Prest in QoS weren't denim either. As far as Levi's current run of Sta-Prest go, I got a pair a couple of years ago that I hardly wear, in part because they don't really breathe. These, on the other hand, are very comfortable. The taper is kind of extreme for some, but I think this is about the closest we can find in Levi's current stuff. Not available on Levi's website anymore, btw, as I think these are from about a year ago. If I could find a version with typical chino pockets rather than the 5 pocket design, I'd be all over getting another pair in khaki.
I'm a Manic Street Preachers fan so I've been wearing white jeans since the 90s. I must admit, I felt pretty vindicated when DC bust out a pair in Quantum -{
I say if you're going to go for it, go all the way. What you need is a nice pair of ice-white denim jeans.

I think the tapered fit 508 are your best bet at the moment and are still available in harvest gold in many stores.
I've been looking around for chinos lately in similar fits, but without the five-pocket-jean design.
The Levi's Chinos (there are a few, but the ones without a number) are basically identical in fit, in my experience, with a slightly higher rise. I actually laid them on top of each other in a store yesterday, one khaki 508 (5 pocket) and one khaki Levi's chino. Macy's even seems to have a listing for it as the 508, though it has slant pockets.
I haven't tried on Docker's Alpha Khaki yet, but that fit looks very similar, too.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same cut with a higher rise, given that Docker's is related to Levi's.
edit: And of course the other thing is that they aren't a cotton/poly blend like the SA ones, but they aren't denim either, so they're probably a little closer to the ideal. I can't speak of the feeling of the Sta-Prest in the movie, which I think were closer to 50/50, but the Sta-Prest Levi's came out with a year or two ago was something like 65% polyester, 35% cotton, and I've hardly worn mine, partly because of how uncomfortable I find them.
edit II: Whoa, I was way off.
My Sta-Prest read 60% Cotton, 40% Polyester. Still not amazing, but not nearly as bad as I thought they were.
I got some Levi's 501's in a cream colour on ebay recently from a chap in North Ireland. They seem quite similar to the QoS pants. Just enter 'Levi's cream 501' into the search bar .
Is that in a chino material? They finally started making 501 chinos, but I'm not sure of all the colors. I bought some 501's years ago and one of them was khaki color, but it was denim. They got a lot of wear. They're your classic straight-leg jean--neither too tight nor too baggy, but they aren't tapered like Bond's chinos were in QoS (not that everyone needs to have tapered jeans). I still wear mine occasionally.

They're denim, not chino material. They certainly seem to fit tighter on me than other jeans I own, including other colours of 501's, but I have thicker 'athletic' legs so they work with my body type (I tried some 511's on this past weekend and looked pretty ridiculous). They seem tapered though, regardless of body type.

But I realized we weren't dealing with the same color
We're not talking the same color here. In fact, they're shades darker than this pair of pants that I bought for work:

Which are closer to the white, that I'm sure most of us are looking for.

50% cotton/50% polyester. Not my size, however.

Here is a link to the Brooks Brothers ones that I mentioned in an earlier post. They are darker than in the film however.

Those are the ones I was recommending, but I can't guarantee they are the same as what JZ007 got. He'll have to confirm.

I can do one of two things:
- Figure out a way to have the "chemically treated" Sta-Prest crease removed and have them tapered to look like the 306 trousers
- Find a tailor who can TAPER the pants with the creases perfectly centered to look SOMEWHAT like the 306 trousers
As always, I will post the results, like the true double-agent that I am.

I'd have to shrink them, but even the 306s in Sandpit have a great golden color at Mathis' villa! I might get these!
