Time to pull the shutters down on news?

Anyone else fancy seeing the next Bond film without trawling around for tidbits and new in the year beforehand? Hard to avoid sometimes, but at least one avoids constructing a movie in one's head from the info available that is much better than the one eventually unveiled.

I'm interested in seeing it without my own opinion forehand. But it is hard when you look through so many Bond related websites. And plus I just can't wait to see it....so to satisfy that urge its hard to not go trawling around....lol

Oh I thought this was James Bond forum, a whole 49 years of Bond and not just about the last couple or the next one and if you mean why am I on the Bond 23 thread well I;m just browsing same as I do with other threads for example Imay take a peak at whats going on on the collecters threads but I do not like collecting.

I only look at the posters for upcoming Bond films. That Casino Royale DBS flip would have been ruined by watching the trailer.

If I'm really interested in a film I don't mind spoilers, trailers, or whatever. I'll be there opening day, and I'll take any info I can get to hold me over until then. And that's where I'm at with Bond 23.

Just saw the previews for Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy. Looks like a good cold war spy thriller. I am pretty sure with Mendes directing 23 is going to have a somewhat dark tone to it as well. Seems to be the world we are in nowadays. That kind of makes me laugh a little, as being old enough to remember what the cold war was really like, everyone should be peaches and cream nowadays. Life is SO hard nowadays, I have to wait 4 whole years now to buy a new car X-(

I never succeed at keeping away from the news. I watch the trailers at the very least.

I just keep scouring the news for a title. Typing 23 just doesn't do it for me :s

i don't want to get exclusive leaks about plot lines or anything like that, but i'd like to have just a taste. just enough to imagine the number of ways it could unfold.

I agree on the title thing. They must know by now!!

No harm in finding out about plotlines, characters etc. Just don't watch too many clips when they do come out and the film will still have the element of surprise. The only certainty (like death and taxes), is that Bond will succeed and the villain will not!

Yes - my question was why you were looking at the Bond 23 thread if you have no interest in Bond 23. Now I know.

I remember watching everything that I could get my hands on for CR - and I have to say, that it kinda ruined it for me. As in, I knew the best line... and had seen the car roll... etc etc.

I didn't do this for QoS - apart from the articles in say Daily Mail... or little bits from here - but I didn't watch any film footage, and I have to say, it made the movie fresher for me as I didn't know the plot, the lines... the insides and outs...blahh, blahh (although I did watch these after the movie... somehow found that the better way round). :D

Although it is difficult... as I'm such a DC fan, it's hard not to read all there is on him - sad I know :#

It will also mean avoiding mi6-hq.com as they seem to post plot or at least scene spoilers on their front page, there's one now.

I always tend to imagine the movie will be a bit more sleek, hard and sophisticated than it turns out to be, this goes back to FYEO, where I never dreamt up some of the slapstick gags that accompanied the film. I thought it would be a gritty little number and it was at times, but a movie is only as gritty as its weakest link. "Keep your hair on!" didn't find its way into my imaginings.... :#

Fair point, although he triumphed in the end.

Of course it was tragic about Vesper so you could argue he didn't win in that respect, but it would have never have worked - the hours, international travel etc....:)

There is a useful 5 letter word, for something big and green and lives under a bridge.

It also perfectly describes his post. Haven't been around AJB007 in a long time, and it seems while I have been gone, its been infested with that 5 letter word bug as well.

I remember back in the day when I used to check Countingdown.com and people would look up movies go to the forums there and post mess like what he did, just to start a fight.

Best advice is ignore people like them.

Who the bloody hell do you think you are, everyone has a right to post their opinion on this forum., it seems that it is YOU who wants to start fights.
I used to love it here but it now seems to be full of people [mostly those who joined after 2008] who think that this is a Daniel Craig website and anyone else's opinions are, what was it , oh yes a mess.
Even on forums such as DCis not Bond they are respectful of forum members who like Craig [yes they have them over there to].

Maybe they are...but have they insulted him to level you have ? I doubt it...

As long as ALL opinions are of a civil manner...then that's okay...whether you are pro or anti any actor or film, etc.
