I shared about this a while back on the AJB site, but there is a Washington D.C. based author named Dr. Benjamin Pratt who penned a book a few years ago about the spiritual themes of Ian Fleming's Bond books and 007's moral compass. You can check out that book on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Flemings-Seven-Deadlier-Moral-Compass/dp/1934879118).
More recently he made some tenuous connections between one of these debatable spiritual themes and the events of 9/11 and after here in the USA.
I wrote an article (http://blog.chron.com/sacredduty/2011/09/author-reflects-on-911-james-bond-america’s-greatest-temptation/) about the guy and his thoughts (particularly in connection with 9/11) for the Houston Chronicle.
I wanted to get some Bond fan thoughts on the book, the guy's thesis and the article as well. And, let's face it, there is no better place to go than AJB for good, or at least passionate, Bond fan reactions :v
