Brosnan, without any doubt. Totally disappointed me. He had a lot of potential as Bond and maybe it was not his fault. I always say that his best performance as James Bond was in "The Fourth Protocol".
At this point in time I do not have a Bond actor which I would consider my least favorite.
On the strength of QoS alone, Craig is back in my good graces. (He will be relieved to know this)
My current 10 favorite:
1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK
Agreed. Still, an unenthuastic Connery in YOLT was excellent IMHO.
Right Blackleiter? :007)
I don't agree. In YOLT and DAF Connery's boredom comes through in his performance. A shadow of his DN FRWL GF self. In TB he still gives a solid performance and is in quite good shape.
Discounting the one off Bond... I'd probably have to say Connery. Not saying I don't like him as Bond, but Thunderball is the only real classic in my opinion where the rest just aren't quite as enjoyable as half of Moore's were and most of Brosnan's.
Now, if Craig's keep going the way of Skyfall he will easily replace Connery despite two of the best films in CR and QoS being his.
Top Ten Bond - 10:Goldfinger 9:Thunderball 8:The Spy who Loved Me 7:For Your Eyes Only 6: Casino Royale 5:The Man with the Golden Gun 4:Quantum of Solace 3:Licence to Kill 2:Goldeneye 1:The Living Daylights
All of the Bonds are likable, but if I had to choose the least likable, it would be Pierce Brosnan. That's because of a combination of two things:
1) To me, he played Bond wrong. He works best when doing lighter fare rather than roles with an edge. He should have played Bond more smoothly and with humor. In this respect, he was better as a Bondian figure in The Thomas Crown Affair than when playing the character in a Bond film. He would have been impeccable had he performed more like that throughout the series.
2) His Bond films are the least interesting to me. They mostly go through the formulaic motions, and that in part is because they were built around Brosnan. The only one I can watch regularly is Tomorrow Never Dies. The rest just seem tedious.
Dalton only got two films, but his first effort was pretty solid, and the second wasn't bad. Half of Moore's films are pretty good, and the other half aren't bad, though A View to a Kill is for me pretty much the worst of any Bonds. Still, his films never seemed tedious. I wish Lazenby had done more, and Connery remains the benchmark for success. So far, Craig has a great Bond film, a good Bond film, and a muddle mess called Quantum of Solace that could have been much better. But I'm still never bored with his films or performance as I am with some of Pierce Brosnan's Bond efforts.

To ME, Pierce was a rather smooth blend of Connery & Moore. But there were times he swung like a pendulum with it, and that fluctuation clearly seems to bother some fans more than others.
Roger Moore, Bond is supposed to be deadly and threatening, yet Roger moore was stick thin and looked like an absolute wimp, same for Brosnan too. Both too weak and frail looking to be conceiving as a deadly secret agent even if it is part fantasy.
Just to come to the defence of Mr Brosnan, I was lucky enough
At the weekend to watch a certain film ( a month followed by a sex )
I have to say Pierce Brosnan is fantastic in it -{ , some lovely little moves,
and bits of " Trade craft" . He's very physical in it and shows a darker side.
It makes you wonder how good he could have been as Bond ? If he'd got
Better material to work with.
On the size to danger ratio thing I used to work with a guy who was only
About 5'7" but he could kick anyone's ass, as unknown to many he was an all
Ireland Boxing champion for something like three years in a row. He didn't look
Much with his shirt on but just like Bruce Lee when he had to take it off, he was
A solid fighting machine.

Connery in YOLT just looked like he was sleepwalking throughout the whole Film. But I still think it's what one of his strongest Performances though -{
1.On Her Majesties Secret Service 2.The Living Daylights 3.license To Kill 4.The Spy Who Loved Me 5.Goldfinger
Bruce Lee was in fantastic physical shape and had no trouble looking deadly and threatening on screen, I was talking about Brosnan though.
Oh. I thought you were talking about weight-to-deadly ratio... because, you know, Brosnan at his lightest still outweighed Lee by 20 pounds or so...
Not at all, I grew up with PB as Bond so I have a soft spot for him, but after DC I cant really look at PB and go "yeah hes threatening/deadly", like others have said he looks more like runway model then an actual agent.
Many actors basically play themselves or part of themselves on screen.
David Niven, Cary Grant, Roger Moore all fine Actors I like them a lot but they
Really just play variations of themselves. So it comes down to whether you
Like them or not ?
I guess I'm lucky there's none of the Bond's I wouldn't watch and enjoy and
In fact from watching them as Bond, I've sought out their other films. Daniel Craig
Would be an example, because of Bond I've watched layer Cake, Defiance and Munich
All great movies.
I know not everyone in into the Bond books but in the Books Bond basically has a
Swimmers body, lean and muscular. Either way so long as we're all watching the films
It gives us something to discuss. -{

Oh, we're staying official. :-P
I'll take Connery from Dr. No through to Goldfinger. Before he started slumming it.
1) The Spy Who Loved Me 2) On Her Majesty's Secret Service 3) GoldenEye 4) Casino Royale 5) Goldfinger

For me, he still was enthusiastic in Thunderball. The scene with Fiona in the bath is the best scene in the film, great charm and energy.

I don't know, he's one of those people I see in a movie and can't help but think "Pierce is playing himself again." He's always the same personality.
